As of 4-12, this version is now available to knight-tier supporters! I'm just releasing v0.11.0.13 for this, since I haven't made any important changes since then. I am just going to draw a little more attention to some graphical changes that were kind of buried, though.

Edit #8: Updated to v0.11.0.13. This is mostly minor fixes, but of note, I lowered the threshold on Ariadne and Ligaea's loyalty events to 75, and Sindarion's to 54. Lorena's will now always trigger if you have her but not the other optional member. Values are aways subject to change, etc. If you would have gotten these under the new threshold but not the old, saves will be adjusted at the start of next version, so don't feel obliged to replay unless you want to.

Get it here!

Edit #7: Fixed an issue that could cause the game to hang if Alexander was KOed by a multi-hit physical attack.

Edit #6: A few more fixes for serious issues. I missed something kinda obvious, as it turns out. XD; Swapping parties during the cave section should no longer cause serious issues. I also fixed a crash that could occur under certain situations when removing a Ward effect from an enemy.

In addition, the Chapter 10 section of the wiki walkthrough is done. Since it isn't public yet, it won't be going on the main page, but the wiki writer (StormyAngel) was kind enough to make a special page for it pre-release. You can find it here, if interested. It's not as polished as the wiki sections usually are, but I wanted to link it now since I was sending out an update anyway, in case it was useful to anyone.

Edit #5: Updated to v0.11.0.10. Looks like Sir Leonidas's new equipment was causing the game to crash on initializing the party for the first time in a new game because of its scaling stats. This has been corrected and it should be possible to start a new game without crashing. The things you never expect to break/think to test when you change something. XD; Apologies for any inconvenience to the new players, and also, welcome!

As ever, if playing on Steam instead, you may need to have steam validate your install.

Edit #4: Updated to v0.11.0.9. This mainly fixes an issue that could cause the game to crash when hitting an Enthralled enemy with a physical attack. Sending an e-mail for this one since it relates to a crash, plus I did make some graphical updates in the previous edit.

Hopefully this will be the last crash-causing thing we need to fix, but can never be sure. Ruby/RGSS3 code is a fickle and easily provoked beast, haha. Thanks to everyone who's reported issues!

Edit #3: I've updated to 0.11.0.8. Nothing too major on the content, just some minor fixes here and there. There's a fix on the variable effects from one decision that I'll make retroactively in the Temporal Rift for old saves. Not sending out a new e-mail for this one.

I did make a few graphic changes, though, namely the Sindarion recoloring I've been meaning to do. I also touched up Lorena's art to look a little more Alcinian (just gold at the bottom of her portrait and on her sprites). In addition, Theseus has a new bust added.

Edit #2: I've updated to v0.11.0.7. Mostly minor changes, but I thought the boss adjustments were worthwhile.

v0.11.0.7 Hotfix

- Various minor balance adjustments to the section's main boss, and a few bugfixes.

- Disarm should now properly remove more effects.

- Calysia's Purge Sorcery pierces reflects. I promise it works this time. :X

- Fixed a spot in the Infirmary where an NPC could corner the player.

- You can no longer fast travel away while retrying Sir Pavlos XD

- The Consuming Arc + Upheaval combo should now trigger the Steam achievement "Traditional Fighting Style."

- Changed passability on the stairs in the Salericos kitchens.

In truth, it would've been better for my sanity to push this until next week, but because of an external circumstance of some importance, I decided to push through and get this out. It's honestly close to a double-length update in a lot of ways, so it's been a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. I've tried to test pretty thoroughly.

A brief note. At one point I said I'd be adding reflections, but those are being a pain. I've used them in a few places, but I'm currently unsure whether I will be expanding this feature or not. But hopefully you enjoy the uses I do have of them.

I'm going to be out for a while after posting this, but I should be back later tonight if there are any major issues, though hopefully we've tested thoroughly enough to avoid that. Feedback, bug reports, and any other thoughts are welcome!

Edit: Updated to v0.11.0.6
- Made the Greater Shadowflame Ward's Umbral Blaze number of hits reset properly on retries
- Hopefully addressed a rare issue causing the game to hang when Alexander was defeated (please report if this occurs again)
- Tried again to ensure Calysia's "Purge Sorcery" cannot be reflected. Please report if it is still.

If using steam, you may need to verify integrity of game files to make it update.

v0.11.0.5 "A King's Legacy" Patch Notes (3-29-2024)

- Significant new section of the story

- 74k words of text

- Extensive new combat section(s)

- New character art for Alexander! Currently only one expression still, but should have a full range of emotions for the public release!

~ Note: The current expression is not his new default expression, but rather the first one the artist completed.

- One new intimate scene for those with the optional patch.

- Four new achievements for those playing on Steam.

= Balance Changes

- Significant buffs to Sindarion, including:

~ Backstab damage now partially ignores defense.

~ Stealth now increases attack by 30% and grants partial piercing damage.

~ Throwing Dagger damage increased.

~ Dagger Strike effects increased and cooldown removed.

~ Developer's note: Sindarion felt like he was badly underperforming, especially compared to Ligaea who shares a similar role of single-target physical attacker. These buffs will hopefully compensate for that.

- Buffs to Cynthia, including:

~ Farstrike damage increased.

~ Annihilate can no longer miss.

~ Clash now has slight priority.

~ Healing of Tranquil Fury increased.

- Buffs to Lorena, including:

~ Swift Strike restores an extra 10% MP.

~ Howling Slash restores an additional 20% MP and has a three-round cooldown (was four).

- Some improvements to Sir Leonidas

~ Leonidas now uses unique gear when temporarily in the party.

~ Increased TGR, Hit, and Crit for Sir Leonidas slightly

~ Sir Leonidas now has passive effects when temporarily in the party (based off his effects as a support member).

= UI Improvements

- Increased the height of the game window by 64px. This is the max possible at present. This is currently only tested for Chapter 10 content. Please report any issues.

- Reduced the screen dimness caused by weather by 33%.

- Retouched the hair on Calysia's sprite to better match her portrait.

= Bugfixes

- Somnus's Enthrall will now be removed by damage at the appropriate rate.

- Calysia's Moonblades now generate Sacred Power as intended.

- Calysia's Purge Sorcery now cannot be evaded or reflected.

= Known Issues

- The proposal screen does not display Elite Units as a benefit. This will be addressed in the public version.

- The description for Windflurry does not state that it cannot be used during Galeforce. This will require rewriting some underlying code to expand the possible length of skill descriptions, and will hopefully be done in the public version.

- The Quest Log quest descriptions may clip the border in some cases. This will be addressed for the public version as it may require significant work.

Steam Version Info

Steam Beta Key: yhxChapter10beta

You can access the steam version by choosing the game in your library -> properties -> betas, and entering that code. An important note, the Steam version of the game is keyed to give the supporter rewards (extra armor colors, Crown Loyalist Pendant, and Crown Loyalist Token) based on the Steam dlc rather than based on it being a supporter version. This isn't a behavior I want to mess with. You'll still have the items if you import a save with them, though.

I just finished the chapter, and it's hands down the best one yet. I didn't think chapter 6 would be topped anytime soon 'cause the setup and execution was just so good. I CRIED in that chapter. Yet here we are just 4 chapters later, and the standards have been raised once again. You simply keep outdoing yourself. I'm incredibly excited for the next update. I have to know what happens next to the Royal Army.

Lord Forte Games

Oh wow! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it so much (and also that things at the groves were so impactful)! ^^ I'm definitely very happy with how this one came out. Thanks for the thoughts and kind words, and looking forward to next update myself.

AnythingAtAll

Will Economic Status be relevant in the next update? Or is it better if that's kept a secret for now? I'm banking on it either being a multiplier of Royal Funds since Economic Control still gives out too little, or giving out funds at certain thresholds.

Lord Forte Games

No comment on whether it will be next update or some other point,, but I do think that it will affect royal fund income at some point, in addition to other effects and checks.
