Weekly Update (7-29-2024) (Patreon)
Content
Patreon really loves its random redesigns... Not sure I'm a big fan of the new comment sort order... Ah well, it's a minor thing.
I had a somewhat rough period late last week for IRL reasons I won't get into. Nothing too serious, but it was enough that I ended up more in the frame of mind for some replaying and testing than I usually would at this stage. So, some of my planned balance tweaks will be in the public update on friday. I was going to leave these for the next update even having tested them now, but I found various minor issues along the way in my testing and it's just easier to push the whole thing to public than to duplicate those fixes across two different versions. A quick example of that is the thing I mentioned to give armored tanks a slightly harder time:
Anyway, I'm generally feeling better now. Replaying is always fun, even if it is pretty time consuming. I always consider it an important metric that I'm doing okay that I can enjoy playing myself, haha. It was also good for fully reorienting myself back toward the game.
This stuff isn't all I got done, though. I did also start on asset work for the update, and as a result of helping Sierra Lee with something, I also did something I've been meaning to for ages and coded a skill scope to make it possible to have a skill only be allowed to select people other than the user when picking targets. This will be nice for things like Prince's Command, Ariston's Guardian's Blade, and a lot of Medea's Voice Art buffs. Going to save that change for the actual update I think. Also, before I forget for the 3rd time, I've been meaning to note that we hit the cool milestone over over 1,000 binary switches for the game. But anyway, back to work for the moment!
