Weekly Update (9-23-2024) (Patreon)

Release seems to have gone fairly well so far, no major issues except that Lorena route one. I uploaded a new version with some very minor fixes, mainly relating to the quest log and when certain objectives appear, plus minor typo fixes. I've also updated the steam version to address an issue with the wrong achieve being granted by the sidequests in the first area. You should be able to get the proper achieve by redoing the second sidequest there or just by taking the "Update Achievements" option in the Temporal Rift.
As a note, I had one report about Guardian's Blade not working, but I was unable to replicate it. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, do you remember anything about the conditions it occurred under?
Also, passing on for StormyAngel that the wiki CrownLoyalist page with a preliminary walkthrough draft of the update walkthrough is up: https://noblesseobligelegacy.miraheze.org/wiki/Crownloyalist
I haven't done it yet, but one thing I intend to do before public release is make a pass on the party relationships on the status menu. Those are overdue for being updated. In addition, a fix from Lamsey has improved the backlog a bit, letting us get rid of some of the dead space that I was a bit vexed by (turns out it was as weird issue in borrowed code + failure to account for window padding when drawing the contents that created some weirdness like the right side scroll arrow).
Some reports by him recently reminded me that better controller support is something I still need to work on. I bought a controller for this a while back, but still need to get around to it at some point. No promises on when it will be done, but just wanted to note that it's on my radar. I also want to do the first of those character trailers sometime soonish, but don't have a strong vision for exactly what it should include yet, so I need to think about it more before working on that.
On the art side, Mimo has agreed to do some new generic soldiers, but there was another smaller project I was asking her about that she basically insisted on doing first. XD Not sure when that will be done, but it should be a nice surprise when it is.
Anyway, as that suggests, my todo list remains long, but right now I'm looking for something fun to do on my post-update break, so all of that will have to wait. Not having the most luck there... Honestly, half the reason I'm making Noblesse is because of how few games truly hit right for my own tastes. XD Suggestions are welcome if anyone has any. I'm sure I'll find something if not, but never hurts to ask somewhat like-minded people, haha.
I think the game shows my tastes pretty well. I'm a fan of turn-based RPGs with interesting combat, strategy RPGs, 4X/Grand Strategy that focused more on flavor than metagaming (I like Paradox games most here), competent protagonists, traditional fantasy, and political stories; I'm not a fan of things that have gray-and-gray morality.
