Weekly Update (11-4-2024) (Patreon)

The mapping for the update is coming along. I had hoped to finish it up over the weekend, and while I didn't quite manage that, I'm getting fairly close. I've also decided that I may do a partial Kharos section this coming update (partial in the sense of, unlikely to have crafting/proposal results). This is in part because several people expressed disappointment over not having one after the events last time but, more importantly, primarily because there are a lot of things we need to hit before setting out for the new stuff and I think it would probably flow better as an explore section than as a super long cutscene (doubly so since we already had a fairly long outro cutscene last time).

This also has some other advantages, like the chance for more loyalty skills (I had intended to do Ligaea and Ariadne's 75 loyalty skills last round, but we already had a -lot- of new ones, so I opted against it). It may slow the update a bit, since those sections can be long, but I think overall it will be for the best. This update may run a little past the usual timeline, but the last two were a bit early so if so it evens out (and I'm not expecting a huge delay even if so; we'll see as we get closer, either way).

Looking ahead, when I launch this coming update and make some advertising efforts, I probably will make at least a little effort to do some outreach to streamers/youtubers (I was recently given a demonstration of the power of even a fairly small one's attention).

This is sort of an open-ended question, so feel free to answer in the future if you happen to have thoughts then rather than now (either here or on anther weekly update or on Discord), but I'd definitely be open to recommendations for people to approach there. I don't really enjoy video content at all myself, so my familiarity with the landscape there is quite poor.

Anyway, a minor, random teaser of some other new mapping. Messing with some new sorcerer-y assets. Can't use the same sorcerous defense pylons everywhere, after all. XD
