I got a start on the writing this week. Still feeling a little behind, but this is an area where I may be able to make up time.

Hard to estimate in advance just how long this update will be as of yet, but even if it got as long as last update, that's 10% done? XD I don't expect it to, but we shall see.

Also, a WIP preview of something from the update:

Still may adjust the tileset here a bit more, such as making the wood darker on the stalls etc. And fixing the missing awning, of course. XD;

In other news, I launched an anti-lag beta version on the steam version. I can upload it here or on the blog at request. Being made in RPG Maker VX Ace (which is pretty old), a longstanding problem with the game has been the fact that it's badly CPU-bound and can't use graphics cards, which leads to a lot of lag on weaker CPUs.

This is something I've wanted to address for a while, but none of the existing anti-lag scripts were satisfactory in their existing states. As a result, I've long been meaning to modify one myself, but doing that will require a fair amount of testing before it's safe to put in the main branch of a game. So, a public steam beta seemed like a good way to test it, since I won't have time to do so properly until at least v0.15 patron release. If you're interested, you can access it on the Steam version with Right click game in library -> Properties -> Betas -> AntilagBeta.

That aside, it's been nice to see steam metrics creeping up. It's hard to know what to compare the median time played to externally, but that has increased a lot relative to the game itself, which is a sure sign more people are playing for longer. So, it's been something I've been pleased to see.

At any rate, for now, back to the writing.
