Nothing beautiful about it
Now you're out here on your own
All this time you prob'ly doubted
That this day would come at all

Well, I'm down here in the ground, kid
All I am is set in stone
WHen you think about a life lived
Child, let those tears fall

When the whole world grows
Colder to the daily news
And your unheard groans
Turn into your only truth
Oh, when all you've known
Joins the list of things you lose
My son, let me sing this for you

Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah
Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah
Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah
Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah

Think of me now with your mother,
Golden streets and pearly gates
And no poetry could capture
Our joy and our fate

Oh, my body/a seed is in the ground kid
Now I live forevermore
When you think about a life lived
Don't you dare hold back, child
Just let those tears fall

And when the whole world grows
Colder to the daily news
And your unheard groans
Turn into your only truth
Oh, when all you've known
Joins the list of things you lose
My child, let me sing with you

Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah
Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah
Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah
Hallelu, Hallelu
Hallelujah

When the whole world grows
Colder to the daily news
And your unheard groans
Turn into your only truth
Oh, when all you've known
Joins the list of things you lose
Let me sing this with you

I've attended Community Night; Our story Continues, just last Saturday night. Before singing Nowhere Chapel (one of your new songs), you said something that stuck with me: “God finding me wherever I was.” “God can’t be contained within four walls of a church.” Those words hit something in me. There was a time I was really struggling with my faith. I kept asking God, “Are You real?” “Why does it feel like You’re silent?” “Why not me?” I had just failed the US nursing licensure exam. After all the sleepless nights, juggling work and study, giving it my all — I didn’t make it. And I stood in front of the mirror one morning, crying my heart out, feeling like a failure. That moment crushed me. Then — a few days later — a video popped up on my YouTube: “It All Makes Sense” I clicked it. Halfway through, I was crying again. But this time... the tears felt different. Not pain — peace. Like God was saying, “I’m still here. Trust Me. It’ll all make sense in time.” That song became the turning point in my faith. Since then, The Ridleys’ music has walked with me through the doubt, the healing, the hope. So when you said, “God can’t be contained within four walls of a church”, I felt seen. God isn’t just in churches. He’s in our breakdowns, our breakthroughs. In the songs that speak to our soul. In people like you who remind us we’re not alone. Thank you, The Ridleys! Thank you, Benny. Your art has been part of my faith story. And by the way — I passed the exam on my second try. USRN, by God’s grace. I hope I get to thank you in person someday. But for now, this is my thank you. With love, Eli 🩷

Congrats, Eli! And I'm happy for you. :) Thanks for letting me know this. I hope that your story becomes an encouragement to someone else, too!
