This is NOT an April Fool’s post.

So when we release our songs, there are two kinds of ownership: the recording, and the song itself. The songwriter is entitled to royalties for the latter. The band has been constantly receiving royalties for the sound recording, but something amazing happened today.

Today, I received my first payment for the song itself.

Today, I’ll start getting paid not only as a recording artist, but finally as a songwriter.

Ever since I was a kid, I had this dream of being an author. I wanted to make a living from my writing before I ever thought about performing in a band. Today, by God’s grace, I am on my way to achieving that dream.

God provides, fam. God is good.
