How fun! I think I started watching this one a couple of years ago and had something else come up so I guess I stopped fairly early, during the regular review-ish part. Enough time passed that when I clicked on it today I was like, I'm pretty sure I watched this one already but why not... what a fun surprise when the technical mishap inspired the more meta final part!

Frankie Gallagher

Now being a patron and going on a binge of Jenny's stuff up to this point, so many of the Star Wars video comments made me think of this video lol! It felt like such ominous foreshadowing when i'd spot them--youtube's top comments are mostly normal so i never saw the worst of it

Gemma Hutchison

do i care about avengers? no. will i watch this video bc its jenny? yes.

Jacqui Sutherland

Really great video! always important to remember you don't owe us jack shit! youtube comments are already a hell hole. <3

Jacqui Sutherland

i feel like this sounded sarcastic but i really mean that. what's the point of making things you don't care about and don't want to make?

Mariayuri Kumagae

This was a cool move. Keep doing what you do. That's what we're here for.

FreeGlass

I actually really appreciate how you opened up there. I was... Half not really into the video as it was going so far... I guess it was kinda obvious it didn't give you a lot to talk about! So talk about what you want, not what you think you should, maybe.

Josh Liam

And here I was ready for bed, looks like I'll be staying up a little longer. *Update: After watching I just want to say how much I appreciate your openness here. One of my favorite parts of your channel is you make videos about stuff I've never heard of, and if you stopped talking about comic book movies completely I wouldn't mind at all. Keep doing you!

Esme Liebert

Honestly loved the honesty, so refreshing to hear someone I look up too as much as you just be so candid and open with the reality of creating ❤ I really needed to see someone chose to move in their own best intrest in the face of others demands and I'm really glad it was you as now I'm going to follow suit with my metaphorical Endgame Video, cheers Jenny!

Tom

Top 5 video on your channel!

Shea

this was excellent, thank you

Luis

Jenny never ceases to amaze!! Thought this would be another funny little movie review, but it turned into so much more. One of my all time favorite videos now. Haven't been to the Metreon in a while think I'll hop on a BART train and go check out the coffee making robot arm.

Trillion Bones

Never Patreonated(?) anyone, but had to start today. I loved your bit about getting validation of your own opinions in content that you view; you broach a tough subject with wit and passion. Alex Mack, Dr. Evil, and the Baja Men is the name of my new 90’s cover band.

MrKlaw

Well you finally did it. I made a patreon account for the first time to support you. That endgame video tipped me over the edge

Sherby Shufflecakes

M Night Shyamalan can only dream of twists like the one this video contained. Your subversión of the “I’m going to attempt a hot take on something I don’t have a hot take on” genre was truly a thing of beauty, and I can only assume that you’re going to win big at this year’s Toobies, which I imagine *must* be a thing. In summary, and in the words of Tuna Turner (the fish-based Tina Turner tribute act): “You’re simply the best.”

Michelle Irene Hanson

I waved back when you waved to the Patrons. I'm kind of lame. I also hope that all of the ugly commenters who make posting Star Wars content not-fun spend the rest of their life with a small, elusive rock in their shoe.

James Murphy

I don’t watch/read all of the content you cover but I love hearing your commentary on things. I liked this End Game video because it took a surprising turn into discussing the pressure to cover it and the comments you were not appreciating. I’m looking forward to Galaxy’s edge even though I’ve never been to Disney and I’m reluctant to go because of crowds and cost but I enjoy seeing things from your perspective.

Brendan Talty

Honestly enormously glad that you liked it I was petrified you were going to come out with some savage hot take that would somehow ruin my experience of the film ❤️ Thanks for being super real with us in the latter half of the vid hope you recover from your illness soon

T. Fazekas

Jenny starts Endgame video to secure Galaxy Edge tickets from her Disney overlords. Enjoys the blue milk and then yells psych! and doesn’t finish. Well played (slow clap)

billythedoor

I appreciate you making this video. I'll watch you talk about anything regardless if I'm actually into it because you're super funny.

LochieDoesStuff

don't mind me I'm just here for the putt putt in the corner. the entire video could have been a slow zoom on putt putt and it'd probably still be good content.

JoeySnowyNoey

This reminds me of when Eric from PMI made a Jigsaw review but then said he didn't like making reviews anymore and he was going to stop. Great stuff.

Katherine Evans

I recall there being a weird Where the Wilds Things Are.... store? experience? on the top floor. Never went in though. Too distracted by DDR in the arcade

Patrick Zartman

I was actually really enjoying the first half of the video, but stopping in the middle to explain why you don't care was fun, too. That could be like your new thing. You could not review the actual content of books and movies (you wouldn't have to even see or read them), but instead just explain why you don't give a shit about whatever the popular thing of the moment is, but hopefully in a comedic way.

Robbie Starkenburg

Make content YOU want to make. Not what you think everyone wants to see. You do you and people will watch regardless. Appreciate the honesty.

R. Chang

The audience never knows what they want. They think they do, but they don't. And I say this as a member of the audience. Stay true to yourself.

Klil H. Neori

You keep doing what you do! May the haters be condemned to the less lucrative parts of Hell, the ones with the really low CGI budget!

Tony LMFAO

BOLD! Courageous! Jenny, don't worry about it. Your honesty and candor is refreshing. I think the burden of shouldering an entire venture from writing, filming, acting, editing, and final product is heavy for anyone. Take time for yourself, dear. Recharge those batteries.

Nicole

I have a podcast that I do with my friend, and we went on hiatus for five months because we got burned out by trying to release every week. We picked it up again after we decided that we could only do every other week and made sure to share the responsibilities more equally. Nobody knows your life like you do. To echo what everyone has already said here, you've got to do what feels right and healthy for you.

Matt

Jenny, I think I speak for most of your viewers when I say we prefer you when you're weird. Keep doing your thing and don't let the internet fools get you down!

Alexandra Paul

Hooray for lukewarm reviews! I think the internet pushes us towards the extremes of THIS IS THE GREATEST FILM OF ALL TIME and THIS IS FLAMING HOT GARBAGE, when in reality most films are just...fine. They’re fine. I like to see this gray area acknowledged.

cranberrylimesims

i think that no matter what you have a distinct ability to make funny, insightful content about anything, but there’s a marked difference between the videos you have fun making and the videos you don’t. honestly keep it weird, keep doing what you actually love, i could listen to you talk for hours about stuff i know nothing about (and i have)

Daniel Fahringer

Great video. Please always make the content that you want to make, not the content others want you to make, because that is the best content. I think we'd all rather hear you go on about something like Beastly or Winx Club than something that you didn't feel like doing a video of. That's why you are great and that's what we are all here for...so thanks for the great video!

HipsterVideo.com

They had Pepper in a suit in Iron Man part 3. It didn't make a lot of sense then either so your reaction to it still applies.

Daniel Anderson

I think the world would be a better place if more creatives just stopped doing projects that they knew they weren't happy with. I love this way of doing it; showing the incomplete product and summarizing "This is how it was turning out, I liked X and Y about it but A, B, and C weren't working out so I pulled the plug" is a really honest approach to creative work.

Matthew McCoy

What Daniel said. Make the content you are passionate about, Jenny.

Matthew McCoy

My favorite thing about this video was actually the Diglett on your bed. I think I need to get one.

MilesKaySolomon

It's always best to do what you're comfortable with, not what people want, especially people who just want to troll.

Shoeboxjeddy

I found your channel with your on point Suicide Squad takes but stuck around for your impressive breadth of content like the fanfiction in depth reviews and take downs of Star Wars EU novels. I've had a bad week at work myself, but take this Patreon as a sign that the shitty commenters are not your main viewers by far. We are. Keep up the good work.

1000thghost

Woot!! New video to watch at work. I feel ok doing this because part of the money I make while watching the video I send to you .

1000thghost

I liked this video 3000%! Do what makes you happy and we will all be glad to come along for the ride.

Roman Àclef

May I just say that I am happy the trolls, fanboys, and incels don't comment on your less mainstreamy content. I am also sorry we live in a world were they otherwise are a menace. Can I ask if you've experienced poor youtube views on a late and/or lukewarm take on some property that triggered the algorithm to hide stuff from our sub boxes and cost you money? I know that their policies of these past couple years have been really hard on a lot of content providers; I'd just hate to think this is driving your decisions because, frankly, I'm in that camp of "but *I'll like it* so please give it to us. :^)

T. Fazekas

Am I the only one that thinks 2024 Jenny is currently rewatching Endgame and developing a plan to get some “quantum takes” back to 2019 so we can get a resolution to this video?

Shred Cadmium

Jenny, Putt-Putt and Big Porg all wearing matching white Quantum RealmZone lacrosse outfits

Curtis J Howd

Hey Jenny. I enjoyed your video and I appreciate your honesty.

Steve Ray

One of the ways secret YouTube algorithms terrify is that nobody knows exactly what the rules are (like in Franz Kafka's 'The Trial'), so every YouTuber must worry that their new hat (or flaming-baby GIF) (or other whim) will accidentally make The Algorithm hate and shadowban their video...and there's no way to know until you publish.

Holly Blackler

Just wanted to chip in - the biggest reason I love your channel is because it's often about the randomest things. I have honestly shown that 'worst reality tv show ever' to about a dozen people, they usually groan when they see the length - but are immediately transfixed, and end up loving it. You have a joy in your eyes and voice when you're geeking out about something you feel strongly about - that's what makes you so amazing as a content creator. I'd literally rather watch you geek out about your top five concrete filler brands for an hour, than whatever hot topic 'it' thing is in the media at the time which you're not fussed about. My favourite videos from you usually end up being things I'd never encountered before, or thought I would care about - Opposite World, Beastly, Avatar theme park, Buzzy, rejected halloween outfits, ghost hunting - just to name a few. We click the videos because they're you, not because of the topic. A happy Jenny makes happy viewers, and I look forward to you ranting about whatever sparks joy in your heart.

Roman Àclef

I feel like Jenny viewed 14,000,605 alternate edits to see all the possible outcomes of the coming algorithm, and this is the only one where we win.

Roman Àclef

Ugh. I feel like YouTube jumped the shark except for those top-tier "influencers". Jenny should be getting her income from we patreons, and a MERCH STORE (and, of course, her impending TV deal) not the scraps from this upjumped, kafkaesque, OVP.

Lawrence Whiteside

I was stuck in this apolocalyptic airport nonsense in ATL today and your video helped me pass the time. Do what you love Jenny. I Patreonize (sic) several creators who don't produce jack, like for months. So, take the summer off or whatever you wanna do. We love you back, in hopefully the least creepy way possible.

Snail

Honest Jenny is best Jenny. Keep being you.

Torie Berke

I have shown your long, random videos to probably 10 or 15 people, especially the fanfic ones and people always immediately LOVE them and you. You are so talented and you should be making the content that makes you happy. Clearly its a win win.

What's Up Houston

Was the gorg snapped out of existence in the second half of the video?

Carl S Burg

Just wanted to echo that you shouldn't feel guilty about making the content you want to make, or about not making the videos you think you should make.

Carl S Burg

Follow your inspiration. I know I like your videos and support you here because what you do feels like it comes from a genuine place and it isn't the same as a lot of other content. And that's a good thing!

Carl S Burg

And if that helps you avoid the more toxic elements of fandom then that's all the better. Keep being you. I will admit, I was looking forward to the Endgame video. What we got was better :)

Carl S Burg

I also want one of those drink gauntlets. That has to be one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen. 'You know what people love? Soda. And themed plastic gloves. If only there was a way to combine the two...'

Ace Reactor

I enjoy videos where you like things too or just feel kind of okay about them. Not everything needs to be about roasting something with hot takes. I think what people are looking for here is authenticity.

Darren Pierce

I don't read comments sections much, but I wasn't aware that your videos usually generated a bunch of bile from fanboys. I figured even the most diehard nuts would enjoy your style and just roll with it. You're never going to please those who see it as their job to fight, draw attention to themselves, protest for the sake of protesting, and generally raise Hades on the Internet. Your vids work when you're making the kind of vids you enjoy. I hope you don't get into the position where you feel like you need to be a content factory.

Allison Sykes

You are my favorite YouTuber! I loved this video. Do what makes you happy.

Adam Drayer

Personally, I have no expectations for you to live up to. Some of my favorite videos of yours were ones on topics I previously had no interest in. You're insightful and funny and you have a unique perspective. You're knowledge of literary narrative is on point, and I learn a lot just from watching. But mostly, you're just best when you love what you do and having a good time. Creative burnout is real. Don't let it destroy the things you love. Don't listen to anyone who tells you different. If you want to pivot, you should. If you want to stop altogether, that should be fine too. Take care of you first. The worst feelings I ever had was waking up and dreading my day because I felt I owed so many things to so many people. Sometimes you need to shed some obligations even if it seems like you'll feel worse for letting people down, you might actually feel better once you're less stressed.

Matthew McCoy

Good call. I just ordered one, too.

Joe

Jenny, I agree with all the other people who think you shouldn't feel obligated to do anything you don't feel passionate about. You didn't create The Mirror Channel. People shouldn't expect you to just reflect their own perspectives back to them. Now that I've said all that, hopefully I'm not being hypocritical when I say that I think it would have been funny if, when you got to the segment with the audio issues, you had instead edited in yourself and everyone else except King Porg being Snapped out of existence, and then cut to the credits without any explanation. The post-credits stinger could have been King Porg standing up, and looking down at the Gauntlet sitting at the edge of your bed. Then, at the beginning of your Galaxy's Edge video, you could have started with King Porg wearing the Gauntlet, and then cut to you being Unsnapped, after which you would have done that video as normal without commenting on what had happened.

Dave

I thought the video was great

Vaidehi Agarwalla

I'm really glad you made this post, and to acknowledge the backlash and the difficulties of making reviews - I had initially clicked the endgame video to see what your funny take on it would be, and I'm kind of glad there wasn't one - it's a good reminder that no matter how shitty the overall movie landscape is, there's still gradations of movies.

KevtheRipper

Honestly Jenny, just do what you enjoy. Because as a fan, I enjoy the videos you enjoyed making. We can tell. :)

Devin M

I didn’t even see Endgame 🤷‍♀️

Brandon Beasley

Just want to add my voice to the large chorus saying that we appreciate the hell out of you, and that you don't owe us anything. Do what excites you! That's what we love, honestly, is you being you in your distinctively smart, witty, insightful, droll, and lovably dorky way.

Brandon Beasley

Also, the fanboys can go to hell. Their opinions mean absolutely nothing. We love you Jenny! And don't forget to take of yourself. Especially if you're feeling burnout.

Luis

But will it beat Jenny's Avatar Pandora video?

Alexander Young

Waiting for that next video to drop. Wondering if you saw that clip, can’t remember who posted it but it talked about how the Time Heist uniforms were CGI and were added by the Russia to make them appear more unified. I think it was Mr.Sunday, who in another video which mentioned bad story telling had “Trapped in a Island with Josh Hutcherson pop up in the background” I remember U had him on Millennial Falcon where you trash talked Collin Trevorrow, so Maybe you already know all this
