where your heart lies (Patreon)

my heart seems to follow the water cycle, whether it's rushing along with the rivers, or soaring with the snowflakes, floating with the clouds, or dancing among the raindrops. water gave us life, and water, in its various stages, brings me such joy.

this year is a La Niña year, meaning those of you in the Pacific Northwest will be seeing a lot of wet weather, and down here in California, I'll see yet another drier-than-normal winter. Washington has seen atmospheric river after atmospheric river already. the intensity of these systems is likely to increase with climate change.  honestly, winters like these in mammoth make my heart ache.

on Tulalip, Stillaguamish, and Skagit land.
