Hello my beloved friends! I hope you are all doing great!

Some say "better late than never", and that's a bit what I had to resign myself to about the Easter fairy house!

Honestly, i've been working on the design since the first days of the month. But sometimes i overthink and overdesign something that's suppose to be simple, and that's exactly what happened in this case.

I have made designs over designs, trying as best I could to come out with something very different. Unfortunately, by overcomplicating things, I ran into failure after failure.

Multipart eggs with stripes, eggs with separate parts too hard to print or to glue, complicated assemblies and parts to thin to be gluable together are some of the problems that I experienced with this design.

After putting everything aside in order to take a step back and think about my possible options, I came to the conclusion to keep everything simple and keep in the same line of ideas as the other fairy houses.

So its finally here my friends, and i would like to apologize for the delay.

The project is almost identical to the other fairy houses.

-All parts are support free (but if you have some troubles with your overhangs, i suggest you put tree supports for the egg)

-All parts are placed in the right orientation for printing.

-Color coded names, with quantities and fuzzy skin mentionned (when applicable).

-3mf file included for the Bambulab owners.

-Complete instructions included with exploded views.

One thing i really love about this design, is how the bricks are creating some texture when the egg is illuminated with a battery operated tealight.

You will also notice that the base is a little bit bigger than usual. Its because of the shape of the egg. I needed more place than usual to add some trees and the hedge around the base.

I really love how the edge creates a new dimension to the fairy houses and i will use it for sure in the next fairy houses.

Regarding the flower (prior gluing) you can heat it gently and shape it around the egg if you prefer to have a curved flower.

In any case if you have some questions, feel free to send me a private message.

Hope you like it friends! Have fun!

Pascal

This just replaced the other print job I was just getting ready to print. This looks awesome!!!

I've used a lot of different ones and the one I like best is Glue Masters Thick viscosity. It also comes in larger bottles than the ones you can get at craft stores and that has been a godsend. If you do more than 1 or 2 PA1 files a month, you go through a lot of glue! Here's a link to what I use on Amazon in the US. https://a.co/d/eQojWi2

Fantastic! I’m downloading and printing as soon as our internet comes back on.

Thank you for all your wonderful designs! This little fairy house is just amazing :)

Pascal, whatever you changed in your process, it made a big difference in how well the pieces fit on this model. I did not have to trim a single piece to get it to fit. The only change I made was I increased the door window size by 1%. This made it so it did not fall through the hole. I am using PrusaSlicer 2.7.2 with a layer height of 0.16. I have a 0.4 nozzle on my Creality Ender 3 S1.

I like that the little fairy houses light up! I went back to look and noticed that not all do. Is there any plans in future to go back to those and redesign them to light also?

Hello Mimi! I will have a look at that. But my major concern is that the design is totally different. Since they were made originally to be in the garden outside, they were not designed for being illuminated. But over time, some people asked for the illuminated version, and that's when i changed the whole design and the way i'm making them. To illuminate the first serie, i'll have to do a complete rework of the first designs. But i will try to have a look at that before the beginning of the summer. :)

I would love to see the older fairy houses as tea lights too!

Dan Fuchs-Brewster

any update on the rework? and are you coming out with a new easter tealight?

I just printed this for the first time and the bushes around have one middle hole that does not fit into the slot. It is like it a bush off....help

2 years later I'm seeing this and I'm having the issue with it falling through the door so thanks for that suggestion
