Hello my dear friends!

I hope you're doing well!!!

I wanted to create a fairy house for mother's day, but I didn't want it to be dedicated only to this holiday! So I put together my design to be able to use it for other occasions, like birthdays, and to be printable for both a girl and a boy.

This is why i choose a cute cake slice.

This way, you can use it for mother's day or any birthday/holiday. Depending on the colors you choose, it can be for a girl or a boy because there's no gender specific details (like flowers). The colors will make the difference.

Just like any other of my fairy house, the project is really simple.

-It is 100% support free

-You DON'T need a multicolor printer for this project. The project is made of individual parts, so no multicolor printer is required.

-All the parts are already placed in the right orientation

-Complete instructions with exploded views

-Color coded names with quantites and fuzzy skin (if required)

-Two set of trees; The round ones, and an optional/larger one shaped like a cone.

Like i always do, i recommend to do some dry fit checks (without glue) at each assembly step, to see how the parts fits together.

You can illuminate the fairy house with a regular battery operated tealight.

I did a color change at height on the little door to have the contour and the door knob white.

Settings: I recommend to use at least 3 walls (perimeters) and a layer height of 0.12mm, but any layer height will work fine.

A complete Bambulab project file is also included for the Bambulab owners.

In any case, if you have some problems with the design, feel free to send me a private message at any time!

Have fun my friends!!! And keep printing!!!

So much detail in this one!!! Thanks for all your hard work and sharing this with us!!

Hurricane Dave

I know my wifey will be getting one of these! :) Great work my friend!

Glyn Brook

Excellent - just so you are aware The Bambu Lab Complete Project File doesn't have all parts on allocated colour plates as usual

PA1 MAKER

Glad you like it! Of course there will be more!!! :)

PA1 MAKER

Thank you very much my friend! :)

PA1 MAKER

Thanks Glyn! I just checked the Bambulab project file and everything seems ok... All the parts are there, all on different plates and by color. The fuzzy skin is set by objects for the applicable parts and there's a small color change on the door... What kind of problems are you experiencing Glyn? I don't see any issues with the file.

Glyn Brook

Thanks for the quick response - the file I opened in Bambu Studio has all the parts, but only the two side pieces of the cake are on a plate and every part is coloured the same

PA1 MAKER

I see the problem, look like there's a problem between Orcaslicer and BambuStudio... I'm using Orcaslicer like many Bambulab users and it looks like the new version of Orca is causing problem when opened in BambuStudio. Will have a look at that today. Don't know what's causing this... But if you want a suggestion, Try Orcaslicer. Many of us prefer orcaslicer over bambuStudio, because they have more settings and options. I will try to fix this! Be back soon! :)

Glyn Brook

Thanks, and will take a look at Orcaslicer 👍

PA1 MAKER

An update is now available in the dropbox. You will find in the "Bambulab complete project" folder two files. One for OrcaSlicer and one for BambuStudio. Everything should be fine now, tell me if its working on your side! :) Sorry for that!

Glyn Brook

Ok thanks for the quick turnaround - in the meantime I have downloaded Orcaslicer so will take a look at that too 👍

Joe

I'm having an issue with the OrcaSlicer file. Same issue as above. I see the 2 cake pieces on an untitled plate and then all the rest floating around where plates should be. I'm on version 1.9.1

Joe

But the Bambu file, when opened in Orca, works just fine it seems. I'm not sure what the differences are in the projects, but just a heads up.

Joe

Just a heads up for anyone printing this, the bottom white cake piece with the 2 cut outs, you should add a brim. Also the 2 very small connector pieces as well. If you're using Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer, you can add brims individually to objects, so the large cake piece and the window/door don't get an unnecessary brim.

PA1 MAKER

Its an incompatibility between the new version of OrcaSlicer (V2.0.0) and BambuStudio. The Orcaslicer file don't load correctly in BambuStudio. That's why there's two versions now.

This is so sweet, your work is truly amazing. Thank you for all your lovely designs.
