EDIT OCTOBER 24: Update on the wheels of the caboose. For a mysterious reason, the swirls on the wheels were counterclockwise instead of clockwise. The individual files are updated and the BambuLab project file too. Sorry for that!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello my beloved friends!

This model has been requested a lot since the Gingerbread Train came out! Well here it is tonight, finally! The caboose to go to the end of the train is now available!

It won't take too long to explain the project to you, because it's exactly the same process as all the cars from last year's train.

In fact, the steps are so similar that I didn't make any instructions for this part. The caboose is very similar to the wagon, so you just have to consult the small pdf file that I made in the "instructions" folder and rely mainly on the instructions for the wagon! Very simple!

Quick note: The top section (the beige extension on the roof) is printed with supports. The outline of the windows has a shape that unfortunately requires some supports, but nothing too complex. So for the beige part located above the long red roof, simply add tree supports at the window openings.

The rest should print without any problem and without supports like it was for the wagon.

I obviously made a project file (BambuLab project) for the caboose. As I mentioned recently, the color changes are already programmed by layer height (and not painted), so you have to slice the plate to see the color changes applied.

Last detail: I will make a French version as I usually do for the sign on the side of the caboose. It's in process, I haven't had the time unfortunately to incorporate it into the project yet.I will make an update on this post once the French sign is added!

Well there you go! I think I have covered everything that needed to be said!

If you have any questions about the project, do not hesitate to let me know in a private message! I will be happy to answer you as soon as possible!

The new files for the caboose are in the original zip file in the gingerbread train post.

Have fun my friends!!! Keep printing!

Pascal

This is awesome! I had a request 2 days ago for a caboose ornament. Any plans to make this into an ornament like the train?

Michael Rosenberger

Simply very beautiful. I just finished the train. And that's where the new wagon comes out. Simply fantastic. I will print it immediately. And by the way, thank you for all your great designs. Michael

Alan & Linda Kreifels

I was just debating what to print & decided to hold out till your next release. Glad I did!

Over The Hill

What are some favorite filaments to use with these models? I've never done a "gingerbread" style model before and will have to order filament.

Chris West

That’s a great question to ask in the Facebook group. Lots of people have made the train and can give you some ideas.

Mike Boock

Pascal - You always come through. Thanks again for all your great designs!

T G

Yay! I just started this project and it's perfect timing!

PinkYeliel

I haven't got Facebook's group link. Can you share with me? Thanks ☺️

Raul Gil

Brutal!!! Estoy acabando de hacer la casa, y voy al lío con el tren!!! Increíble!!! 👏👏👏

Deborah Ortiz

I absolutely LOVED making this last year! It sat on my coffee table proudly! Hoping I have the same filament around to make the matching caboose!!!!! Thanks for the wonderful designs!

Adam Jones

The perfect final touch to your already awesome train!!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

KD

How about a blank sign too?

Gwynnevere

Precious! So many wonderful Christmas-themed designs you've created for us, Pascal, thank you! I'm almost done printing out the Chimney Santa countdown (lol, so funny, poor stuck Santa) :) :) :) Can't wait to start printing out this gorgeous Gingerbread train.

Polly Leasure

What glue to you use to glue all these parts together? I have used super glue, but it dries white of if I get any on a part I didn’t want?

Jeff Robinson

He's said before that he uses The Original Super Glue from the Dollar Store. I also use it and it works exceptionally well. I get the 0.1 oz bottle with the "suck-back tip". Generally, any clear kind of ethyl cyanoacrylate glue should work well.

Linda

Hi Pascal! I just joined your Patreon today. My husband and I look forward to start printing out these amazing looking designs. We have a very small business and right now we are donating all proceeds on anything we sell, to my sister on behalf of our 28 year old niece - who has been in a coma since March 1st after she went into cardiac arrest. Thank you for providing access to the license to sell your wonderful 3D printed designs at such a reasonable price every month... Especially when every dollar counts for us. Thank you again. 😊

Penna

Any chance we can get a slight re design to the bottom wall overhangs. I notice on your picture and on my own model its hard to get a "Perfect Bottom" Thing looks perfect but with how all your other prints come out flawless this one just bugs me a little.

PA1 MAKER

Hello Penna In fact, a lot of people are complaining about the last update of Bambu Lab regarding this. Many people have problems with overhangs and bridges since the last update. Me the first. My overhangs are a bit saggy and my bridges are not what they used to be in the past since the update. I was able to bridge 40-45mm without any problems, and now i can barely make a 20mm bridge without sagging. Bambu Lab is supposed to correct that in the next update. So i'll wait before making any modifications to the model, to see if its really needed or not. One tip i can give you: Slow down the outer walls speed (in the speed menu). Only for the outer walls. It helps a lot for the overhangs. You can also change the overhangs speed in the same menu. Its two things i do most of the time, but honestly i forgot to set them right for the caboose project. I was on a hurry to print the parts, and decided that the printed part was acceptable but it would have been better if I reprinted the parts adding the settings mentioned previously.

Shelley Donnelly

Hi, I've just become a member, where do we find the links for these please?

Penna

Thank you for such a detailed reply and message. You are awesome. Will try all the things you suggested. Your work is too nice to not be printed perfectly haha.

Jake Ezzo

check out the pinned post at the top; it will have both a password and a link to the dropbox where you can access the files.

Ruben Campos

How do i get the file to print this? I just paid the $10.50 membership. Thank you in advance.

Justin Eldridge

one quick question about the caboose i don't see a plate for the red and white and green and white for the wheels are they the same size as the wheels on the wagon I can just use that file for the ams so i don't have to glue all the pieces together for them?

Ruben Campos

I'm new to this. I don't see a link & password in any post.

BadActor

It's pinned at the top of this page, look for the large colourful padlock and text that says " NEW LINK AND PASSWORD FOR NOVEMBER"

Frédéric Lallement

Hello Pascal , what font is it on the signs ( Love Joy Peace ; and Polar Express ) ?

Barry Robbins

Not a complaint but I noticed the candy wheels on the caboose "spin" counter clockwise compared to all the other wheels. Was that intended?

Barry Robbins

A question. The loco had 2 icing white strips and I can't find in the instructions where those strips are installed.

Franck Marcot

hello a little idea of upgrade for the christmas train why not make the smoke of the chimney it could be nice franck marcot

BadActor

That's a great idea. I'd prefer to print a cloud that fits into the chimney, a hollow white effect. Perhaps modify the front section where the tealight goes to filter into the chimney up top?

BadActor

The instruction photos are very clear for each stage of the assembly, which stage are you struggling with?

Barry Robbins

Thanks for the reply. It's not in the instructions is the problem. The parts are labeled "WHITE - CABIN SIDE ICING STRIP" but nothing I can find tells me where they go.

PA1 MAKER

Hello Barry! You are right! I don't know how this happened honestly 'cause i re-used the same wheels as the other ones. I will correct that and make an update once its done! Thanks for notifying me!

PA1 MAKER

They were supposed to go under the "polar express" signage, on the angled face. But they are difficult to glue in place and its not really possible to make an indentation for them, so i have discarded them. I simply forgot to remove them from the stl folder. Just trash them. ;)

Ruben Campos

Can you please send me a screen shot of where the drop box, link & password is found. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've been trying for days.

dkev

My wheels are clockwise. They are the same direction as all the other wheels on the train. hmmm

Amy Aspey

I'm new here, just finished this project today and I thought, Can we get a Halloween theme of this train ? Black train Orange roofs and instead of snowflake side decal maybe pumpkins ?

BearTails

I'm new to 3D printing and this is my first larger project. I was already in the process of printing the rest of the train when the caboose was released, and all had gone super smoothly. Even though it's large and intimidating, the clear instructions and perfectly executed files, make this very beginner friendly! I worried my brains out for the entire 3-hour print of the caboose rear roof section because of the tree supports though. I couldn't figure out a way to change the filament to support filament for PLA (I am rapidly trying to learn everything) and the slicer didn't recognize the supports as anything different from the rest of the piece. So, I finally gave up and let it print in PLA and stressed for the entire 3+ hour print that the supports wouldn't break away when all was said and done. In the end, they came right off, and I never should have worried. I should have known that this designer has everything covered. Amazing project from start to finish!

bonjour je n arrive pas a trouve ce wagon de queue

steve jones

I just became a member and I would like to print this file, How do I get it?

PA1 MAKER

Hi Steve Welcome and thanks for supporting my work! At the top of the page, you will find a post called "Link and Password for December". At the bottom of this post, you'll find the link to access the dropbox. All the files are there. :) Have fun! Pascal

Jake Corbett

Does this part of the Gingerbread train have the multi-color wheels, like the other cars? I can't seem to find them in the Bambu 3mf project file. I only see the separate white, red and green parts. Thanks.

William Marshall

I'm not able to find the download link for this. I was able to find and download the train set, but I can't find this one.

Christy Gorman

I have a question. If I joined your patron, how do I make it? Where I can sell your items that I make? Is there something else I need to join? I pay your $10 a month fee.

Manuela Dresen

ich finde diese datei nicht in der box, bin neu hier

PA1 MAKER

Since the last two weeks, the files are directly into their associated post. You don't need the dropbox anymore. Just go to "collections" at the top of my patreon page, and in the christmas collection you will find the gingerbread train my friend. ;)

Manuela Dresen

aber bei dem Zug fehlt der link, bei mir

Crazyvetfam

where do i get this part for the train

PA1 MAKER

Hi Kurt As mentionned in the post "The new files for the caboose are in the original zip file in the gingerbread train post." Have fun my friend.

Crazyvetfam

Crazyvetfam

Francois LECLERC

Hello, Is it possible to put a first name instead of Love Joy Peace? if so how should I proceed I am a beginner, thank you

Ronn

I really Like the Train and station. will you be adding more cars, maybe a car hauler or tanker?

Bryan Kirby

I love the train, but have not been able to print the roofs for the caboose. I added them to new plates to print on their own.
