Hello friends!

While I'm finishing up the bigger projects of the month, which obviously take longer to produce, I created this simple little file to showcase some puck lights we recently bought for our patio.

Since they're not very pretty on their own, we decided to "hide" them in a minimalist and visually pleasing lamp.

Pamela wanted something in the "MCM" (mid-century modern) style, and it's been a long time since I've made a lamp or done an MCM-style project.

Ultimately, the whole thing had to be relatively quick to print, as we plan to add ambiance to our patio, and more than one lamp will be required. That's why we also bought the Energizer puck lights, as they're wireless and offer 40 lumens of light.

So here it is; the small MCM-style mood lamp for the patio, easy to print and assemble.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

The project can be scaled up to any size, and any type of lighting can be used. No hardware is required. For my part, as mentioned above, I used Energizer puck lights. But simple battery-operated tealights or an LED strip can also work.

A hole has been provided in the base in case you want to run a wire to power an LED strip.

All parts print without supports.

I STRONGLY recommend using at least 5 walls for the legs. Especially if you're using Polyterra, like me. Polyterra unfortunately has slightly less strength when it comes to layer adhesion, and it can be easy to break a leg if you don't have enough walls. But all my lamps were done in Polyterra matte colors and in the end they are relatively strong.

Another important point: The legs are designed to be a fairly tight fit, in case you don't want to use glue. I recommend printing the base first, and then printing a leg to check the fit. If it's too tight, reduce the size by 1% and test again. Reverse the process if the leg is too loose, or enlarge it by 1%.

I've included instructions, but honestly, you probably won't need them. It couldn't be simpler and more intuitive.

The puck light used is this one:

There's a gif included in the photos above to see the color changing effect of the puck lights. (The speed is however accelerated.)

In any case, if you encounter any problems, please let me know!

I'll get back to you as soon as I've completed the new, more challenging designs!

Have fun and keep printing!!!

Is this the only file that has been released this month?

Does the Bambu LED 001 light fit this lamp? If not, has anyone already figured out what percentage the model needs to be scaled by to work with that light?
