Hello friends! Me again! 😁

Here's a new bird feeder model I've had on my list for a while now! It's been requested several times, and I hadn't had a chance to look into it yet.

Now it's done, and tonight I'm finally presenting the "Tiki Bar" style bird feeder!

Colorful and adorned with classic Tiki-style elements, this bird feeder has one feature that the others don't: No hardware is required! So it can be scaled to any size that fits your printer!

Other than that, it's very similar to all my other projects.

It's simple to assemble, but I recommend following the instructions carefully and doing dry-fit checks (tests without glue) to fully understand how the parts fit together. Also, make sure you glue the parts properly and take the time to ensure the glue cures properly.

Only one part needs small supports. It's the long bamboo wall (the one with the perch) that needs supports on the small dovetails at each end. That's all. And it's specified in the file name.

All multi-color parts print using simple layered color changes, which can be done on any type of 3D printer. If you're not familiar with layered color changes, send me a private message and I'll guide you with some links.

I recommend using multiple walls on the columns to ensure sturdy parts. The same goes for the hook if you decide to use it. 5 to 7 walls is, in my opinion, the minimum depending on your material.

A Bambu Lab project file is also included. In it, you'll find the color and wall settings already configured. These settings are only suggested, of course; you're free to change them if you wish.

Regarding the color changes in the project file, they are already configured, but they are per LAYER and not painted with the paint tool. So you must first slice the plate to see the colors applied in the preview window and on the slider bar to the right of your screen.

The project is currently in "normal" format, meaning it is configured for a 256x256mm bed like the P1s or X1c. However, as mentioned above, it can be scaled down to fit a mini or enlarged if your printer allows it.

Also, regarding the multicolor columns, the file name begins with... Multicolor! I didn't include color names, for obvious reasons of confusion or overly long file names.

I'll conclude by adding that if you experience any problems with the project, just let me know. I'll try to help you as best I can!

Hope you like it!

Have fun my friends! Keep printing!

Pascal

Note: My whole project was printed with Polyterra filament. Which is correct for my region and the way i use my designs, but if you live in a very hot area you way want to use another type of material, like ABS or ASA. But if you are looking for the exact same colors, all my colors are available from Polymaker - Polyterra collection, including the marble sandstone i used for the bambu walls.

I love it. Beautiful design and of course you picked the perfect colors.

Another option may be the new Polymaker HT-PLA. They are sending me some, so I will let everyone know how it is. Supposedly, its better than PETG. Colors may be limited at first though. We will see.

One thing I see, but will have to determine once I print this. The perch may be kid of low for most birds to reach the tray. They may just stand on the top edge by the tray to feed. But, like I said, this is just a visual look at the pictures..... I'll see how it works and what the birds do.

This looks great! Scaled up would be a good candy dish for work too. 😆 Re: Polymaker HT-PLA, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnjVVY0om48 Polymaker should sponsor you if they're not already, seems like a perfect match.

Here I was thinking you couldn't top my favourite - the Diner feeder - and you've absolutely proved me wrong! This is the MOST adorable feeder, Pascal! I can't wait to get it printed!

Simply amazing!! This may have shot to the top of my favorite bird feeder list!! As another poster said...the Birdie Diner has set the bar pretty high for the best, but this one is a strong contender!! Thanks for your hard work and attention to details!!!

Oh my goodness! Your designs keep getting better and better!

curious who do people prefer for their PETG orders. Trying to keep it as close to cost as possible.

Looks amazing. Printing it now!

This might be a stupid question, bit is this printed in PLA?

Joy Corkey

Could I request an apple shaped bird house?

PLAground Shop

Wondered if you’d ever made a horse trailer or barn themed bird feeder / house?

Torita Byrd

If anyone has shipped the bird feeders is there an average size box used

Michelle

The dowels that attach the bottom corners to the multi colored pillars don't fit into the pillars. Any advice on how to resize them?

Chris West

They should fit. Depending on how your printed them, they’ll be snug, but secure. You can always shrink them. I suggest posting a question in the Facebook group to get additional feedback.

Michelle

I forgot about the FB group. Thanks!

I have printed the plate with the wall base and hook twice and it has failed, all the other plates on the bambu file are printing beautifully, any ideas. Im printing in PETG
