NEW BIRDHOUSE - THE POLICE STATION! (Patreon)

EDIT: TWO PARTS WERE IN THE WRONG ORIENTATION IN THE INDIVIDUAL FILES. The main body and the base. They are now update and they should be ok! Thanks Eduardo for notifying me! Hello my dear friends!
It is with great joy today that I present to you the new birdhouse in the collection!
Following on from the fire hydrant for the firefighters, this lovely police station is now available to honor this fantastic profession!
I must say I'm very proud of this birdhouse. The little cartoon look and the typical shapes of the police world are immediately noticeable. Probably my favorite birdhouse to date! I simply love it!
Like all birdhouses, the project is very simple:
-All parts are positioned in the correct orientation for printing.-All parts print without supports.-Assembly is very simple.-A BambuLab project file is included.-A new birdhouse stand is included. It has been reworked to be easier to print and to betteraccommodate self-tapping screws, which will be my new standard from now on.-The project is made with mini printers in mind. This will give you a decent sized birdhouse for small birds. If you want a bigger birdhouse, a good scaling factor is 1.3x, which will give you a bigger birdhouse and you will only need to scale the screw size up by 1. (m3x10mm will become m4x12mm, and m4x10mm will become m5x12mm)
HARDWARE:
You will need the following hardware:
- (4x) M3x10mm self-tapping screws
Example of the ones I used:https://a.co/d/3XjGDyf
- (4x) M4x10mm self-tapping screws
Example of the ones I used:https://a.co/d/dNRIbvl
Some parts require color changes. These are specified in the file name. You can create these with any printer using layer-based color changes. If you are not familiar with color changes, simply let me know and I will guide you through the process.
Same thing for the fuzzy skin. Some parts require fuzzy skin and if you are not familiar with this setting, feel free to ask for more info. My fuzzy skin settings for this project are the default BambuLab settings.
IMPORTANT:
The parts that will receive the screws must have enough walls to properly receive the screw and form a solid thread. For these parts, I recommend:
- LIGHT GRAY - BASE: at least 5 walls.
-BEIGE - BUILDING MAIN BODY: at least 5 walls
Also, plan to print the new support ideally with these parameters:
-BLACK - BIRDHOUSE SUPPORT: 9 walls.
That being said, you will find in the folder a complete BambuLab project file. Everything is already set with the right parameters (fuzzy skin, number of walls, color changes etc). For the color changes, they are BY LAYERS and not painted. YOU NEED to slice the plate first to see the color changes in the preview window.
FINAL IMPORTANT DETAIL:
You will find two small, very thin (0.4mm) black rectangles in the pieces, which may seem insignificant at first glance.
These are the window squares that go behind the window frames to add depth to the visual effect and create a semblance of a window pane.
Since the windows have curved backs, it was impossible for me to include the item directly in the window frame, so I did this. It's very easy to glue in place, but be careful, they have a specific orientation; one side is 3-4mm shorter than the other.
As usual, I STRONGLY recommend doing a dry-fit check to see how the pieces fit together (without glue). The bird's entrance is a little tricky to position due to its special shape, but with a dry-fit check, you'll immediately see its correct position. Do the same for each step, and everything should go perfectly!
Have fun, my friends! Hope you like it as much as I do.
See you soon!
