Hello my fantastic friends!

Second birdhouse design of the year!

This time, I opted for a classic, charming, and inviting design. Inspired by the countryside, this birdhouse has a distinctly rural and warm feel.

Its construction is a little different from other birdhouses. Since the roof, posts, and railings are all one piece, I chose an opening at the back for seasonal cleaning instead of the usual one at the bottom. This is to prevent any warping of the base over time that could affect the entire design. Having a single-piece base increases its volume and, consequently, its rigidity.

Otherwise, it follows the standards of other birdhouses.

All parts print without supports.

All parts are positioned in the correct orientation for printing.

Hardware needed: (4x) m3 x 10mm self tapping screws and (4x) m4 x 10mm self tapping screws.

File names are coded by colors, quantity, and specific settings where applicable.

Some parts require color changes at the correct layers. You don't need an AMS to print them; simply make the color changes at the correct layers, which any 3D printer can do without any problem. If you're not familiar with the procedure, just let me know or check out my community's Facebook page for help:

A few parts require a brim, such as the posts and the trim around the bottom of the house.

Speaking of the posts, I'd like to point out that, since they're printed vertically, they're a bit fragile until they're glued to the assembly. Once in place, it's not really an issue, but as individual parts, I advise you to handle them gently to avoid breaking them.

Assembly is relatively simple and quick, however, I strongly encourage you to follow the instructions carefully to avoid critical errors.

Feel free to review the instructions a little in advance and do some dry fit checks (without glue) to see how the pieces fit together.

Finally, a complete Bambu Lab file is included as usual with my preferred settings and color changes already applied.

Remember that my color changes are by layers, not painted. Therefore, you must slice the plate first to see the applicable color changes in the preview window.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let me know!

I hope you love it as much as I do and have lots of fun building it!

Have fun, friends!

I wonder if you would give any thought into a way to optimize these designs to be painted in a uv printer like a eufymake. Been thinking about ways to use that machine in my own workflows

These houses are SO versatile! Would be great if you would offer the front wall of all the bird houses with no hole 🙂

Loving a new birdhouse to print . Getting ready to put them all on a table to see how they sell soon . We shall see .

Feel free to remix it and add it to the shared folder!

Let us know what you come up with!

If I was talented enough to do that I certainly would!

Chris West

I’m sure you can find someone to help you in the Facebook group. There are also many YouTube tutorials on how to use tinkerCAD to fill in holes like this.

What a nice and "Good Ole Down Home" vibe this birdhouse gives off!!! It's a fantastic addition to your birdhouse collection and quite refreshing to get such a nice looking classical house!! I can't wait to get started on this one!! Thanks for your hard work and sharing this one with us!!!!

Any options for multiple entrances? Because other birds needs other entrances

Chris West

Most cavity-nesting birds (bluebirds, wrens, chickadees) prefer a single defined entrance. Multiple holes can: • Confuse species selection • Increase competition or intrusion from other birds • Make the box less “secure” feeling

I have printed the base and the house i like the change to cleaning door to the back, but i am worried that the base is only fixed by glue and no mechanical fixtures can it not have both as this it the main support fixture?

Also awesome work 😃👍🏼🤘🏼

Do you use PLA? Which Filament do you use?

Chris West

PLA will work fine. Just make sure you keep this in a shaded spot. Others have asked this question on the Facebook group, you can go there for additional suggestions. We no longer offer a filament list as those colors cannot always be secured worldwide. We also encourage you to use your own creativity when picking colors.

So glad you have done more birdhouses. I love them. Seems getting birds in is tough because many of us just don't understand where to put them or when and that we have to be patient. Sometimes years. Looking forward to some new ideas. You have a great creative mind. Thank you.
