Hello friends!

I hope everyone is doing wonderfully!

Here's a lovely illuminated countdown calendar for you, my dear friends!

Other countdown calendars of this type have brought joy to many in previous years, so here's another one to add to your collection or shop!

In its current format, it's relatively quick to print. If I remember correctly, the plate that takes the longest to print takes 2.5 hours. The entire project can be printed in a single day with one printer, and can be completed in 3-4 hours with multiple printers, depending on the number you own, at a layer of 0.2mm. For the candles, a layer height of 0.12mm will give you a smooth result, with a nice curved top, but it is not mandatory and 0.2mm will give you a nice and very acceptable result too.

Only one piece requires supports; the gravestone, which serves as the main piece.

A few pieces require color changes per layer, which is clearly indicated in the file names. But you don't need a multicolor printer to print those parts, a regular printer with simple color change at the correct layer will do the job.

In short, all in all, it's a very simple project to print and also very simple to assemble.

As usual, I've created three versions of the main scene for this kind of project:

-Days until Halloween

-Days till Halloween

-"Jours avant Halloween" (French version)

A quick note for those interested: The candles can also be lit if you wish! I've created a wire path that runs from the tombstone to the inside of the candle flames, so you can add 3mm mini LEDs inside the flames. Personally, being extremely busy, I didn't do this on my own print, but everything is there to allow you to do so.

I used a small piece of COB LED strip (2 sections, approx. 50mm long in total) to illuminate my calendar.

Another important note: The numbers are designed for a 31-day countdown. The quantities are based on this number of days. (They are indicated in the file names). If you want a longer countdown, you will need to print some additional numbers.

A small storage tray has also been included for storing unused numbers. If you're making a longer countdown, you'll obviously need more than one tray.

Always follow the included instructions, and make some dry fit checks (without glue) at each steps to understand how the parts fit together.

Finally, one last little tip: for the main scene, I opted for the ironing function. With a layer of ironing over the orange and black, so the letters, details, and uniformity are greatly enhanced. And the print time remains reasonable; we're talking a little over an hour with the ironing on the piece and a layer height of 0.2mm. Arachne wall generator will also provide a better result compared to the classic wall generation method in my opinion.

So there you have it! I won't take up any more of your precious time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me or ask them on my Facebook group:

Have fun, and I'll be back very soon with the next project!

Take care, my friends!

This is really cool, Pascal, but our Bambu A1 doesn't do very well if the ironing function is turned on. If we print it with the ironing OFF, will it look OK? Thank you very much.

Whitney Henderson

So cool! Do you create designs that use puck lights by chance?

Johnny Housley

Evil Clown

Thanks, Chris.

Unfortunately, Pascal doesn’t take customer requests. But thankfully, it is quite easy to add or remove text. Here’s a video about removing text. The steps are slightly different if you’re filling in a negative space, but still just as simple. Give it a try and ask for some tips in the Facebook group if you need them. https://youtu.be/E7HfpNYg3ns?si=Klp67tg-yI8142SF -Chris

A really thought out design, thanks, Pascal!

I love this so much. It printed out very well! However, I know nothing about adding the lighting into this! Can you point me to a tutorial/website where I can learn about doing that? Thanks!

NoCoBirds

Thank you! This should get me started :)
