Hello my friends! Here's the second piece of the BTTF diorama! The Texaco Station.

This station is located at the left of Lou's café/Roy's Record Store in the movie.

I made a lot of research to try to keep the correct proportions as much as possible. Unfortunately, to accommodate every maker, i had to remove a small door next to the garage doors, to make sure it was printable on smaller printers like the Prusa Mini. Its not a big detail, but if you think it needs to be added for the bigger printers, just tell me!

You will find in the stl files two types of base. One smaller for the mini owners, and a larger one (210x210mm) for regular printers.

All parts are already placed in the right orientation.

No supports are needed.

For the signages, you will have to make some color changes to get the same result as the pictures. I didnt have the time to make some 3mf files for those parts, but i will include them very soon, in the next days. Same thing for the 3mf file of the whole project for the BambuLab owners.

Complete instructions are included as usual, but some sections are a little bit different than usual. So have a look at them carefuly.

File names are color coded, but there's also a minor difference this time:

Files with color change are named like this: (i.e) WHITE_RED - RIGHT SIGNAGE. That means the first color is white, and you'll have to make a change for the red at the corresponding layer.

Files that are printed in two different colors are named like this: (i.e the gas pump) RED1x SILVER1X - GAS PUMP - 2xThat means you will need ONE red pump and ONE silver pump.

In any case, if you have any problem with the files or the assembly, send my a private message. I will be please to help you as usual!

So that's it for this one! I hope you like it! Have fun!!!

WOW!! Fantastic work on this one Pascal!!! Thanks for going through so much effort to create this, and also thanks for the tremendous effort with your instructions!! I sometimes think your instructions take as long, or longer to prepare than the actual files!!!!!!! Good job!!!

This brings joy to my heart. I’ve already printed several of the cafe models so I can’t wait to get this one done to set beside it. Now all we need is the court house. Haha. That one would be epic and probably a little to much but it’s ok to dream. Thank you so much for this.

Glad you like it my friend! I am making the whole Hill Valley center place. ;) So you will have in total: -Lou's Cafe (done) -Texaco Station (done) -The Court House -Statler Motors (Studbaker) building -Western Auto Stores -The Blue Bird Motel -Hill Valley Barber shop -Hill Valley Stationers -Zales Diamonds -JD Armstrong Realty -"Ask Mr Foster" Travel service -The central park So you guys will be the first to have a complete, 3d printed Hill Valley center place, and most of the buildings will be available here only. 😁I don't know if i'm right, but i think it is gonna be the very first project of this kind in the whole 3d printing community. 🙂

Thanks a lot my friend! 😊 And you are right, the instructions are really time consuming. The only advantage i have, is that i've been doing this for years. As a mechanical designer, during my career i had to do a loooot of instructions regarding assembly/disassembly/maintenance of the products i have worked on. I know how a slight error in the instructions can be catastrophic sometimes and i'm taking my time to put everything in place, at the right moment and in the easiest way possible. I'm really glad you noticed all the work in it! I really appreciate! Thanks Adam!!! 😊

This is so awesome! I printed one of your other garages for my dad for his most prized Hot Wheel. One question- he was wondering what cars you have used in the photos.

This has left me speechless. I am in aww of your brilliance. Back To The Future has been my favorite movie since the day it came out. I was lucky enough to see it in the theater the day it was released. I saw it seven more times after that. I have since handed the love I have for all three movies down to my children. I can't wait to have all these models together. Thank you so much.

when you do the court house, can you include the the wire to the clock and to the pole?

PA1 MAKER

I will have a look at this tomorrow. 🙂I will tell you that with pleasure. Need to find them first! 😅 Its in my bag with 150+ Hot Wheels... 😅

PA1 MAKER

Hi Larry. I will add the pole for sure, but i think a small steel wire will be better for the clock wire. And i'll have a look, but if i'm correct, the post will be with the central park model, cause its on the other side of the street. But i will take in consideration for sure. 😉

Im Making this now no supports even for window cut outs?

Kiara Ortiz Navarro

I wish I could post pictures I just did the Texaco signs .12 layer height and man they look so good! Really well done with this design!

PA1 MAKER

Nope! It should bridge from one side to another easily! ;)

PA1 MAKER

Thank you very much Kiara! You can post your pictures on my facebook page, on the related post. :)

Kiara Ortiz Navarro

We need a Sinclair Gas Station very popular with the lowrider diecast scene.

Kiara Ortiz Navarro

Or even just the signage to convert the Texaco one into another type.

Alberto

Thousand thanks for include a "Prusa Mini" (or A1 mini :) ) compatible size of STLs!!!

I am having difficulty in getting the corners of the small base to stay stuck down. It is lifting during printing which throws off the quality. It's literally the only thing I have left to print before assembly. Very discouraging. I am printing with PLA on an Ender 3S1 Pro and I have the K3d Sprite Cooling system using Klipper Firmware. I have a bambu lab a1 mini but i don't believe I can print this on my bed on the bambu.

Crazyvetfam

any update having same issues with the building

PA1 MAKER

Hi Justin Sorry, just saw your comment. What you are experiencing is warping, a comon problem with large rectangular parts in 3d printing. Its not how the design is made, its something happening frequently in 3d printing. Uneven heat and cooling will make the corners lift from the plate. You can have some solutions here: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-how-do-i-print-this-printing-help/large-flat-print-is-warping/ By the way, this project can be print on a A1 Mini too. You will need to print the alternative base (BLACK - DIORAMA BASE FOR PRUSA MINI OWNERS) which will fit on the A1 mini too. All the other parts will fit the mini without problem.

Crazyvetfam

I even used a brim and let cool did small fit fine

Crazyvetfam

Can't wait for next hot wheels model was hoping the base on this would lock into lous
