Hey! Me again, with another request made by one of you!

What I love about this project are the specific needs that had to be respected;

-Creating a 3d printed small box design, with valentine's day in mind, for a teacher who wants to give a small gift to each one of  his students.

-Must be easy to print

-Must be fast to print

-Must stay closed, for practical purposes and transport.

So here it is, and its available in three sizes:

-One size for the Bambulab Owners with large bed (256x256mm)

-One size for the othe printers with a 225x225mm bed (like Ender)

-One size for the owners of a Prusa Mini or Bambulab A1 mini (or any other 180x180mm printer)

So i grab some flat designs of cardboard boxes i had, re-drawn them and tested them to see if they could be 3d printed. This one was the one with the best results, so i started to work around this one.

The design is a flat design, so its easy to print for almost anybody.

I have made a lot of iterations on this one to make it printable at any size and to make sure everything was easy to fold. I have also changed the width and the position of the bending lines many times during my tests to prevent any tearing or breakage.

FOR THE INSTRUCTIONS: You will find a video in the instructions folder.

Its because it is much easier to show you how to do it this way.

You will need a bit of CA glue (super glue) to glue the first flap in place.

But overall, this is a super simple project.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

-The design is made for a 0.12mm OR 0.24mm layer height.

-The Hinges are 0.24mm thick.

-So If you choose a 0.12mm layer height, change your first layer height in the slicer for 0.12mm. You will have a hinge compose of two layers.

-If you choose a 0.24mm layer height, change your first layer height in the slicer for 0.24mm. You will have a hinge compose of only one layer.

Both work really well. As you can see i have printed 13 of them in different sizes, with both layer heights, and all the hinges worked very well.

So this is it! If you have any questions my friends feel free to send me a private message!

Have fun my friend!!! Pascal

I love this! I actually had printed a rose and I have it on a shelf, angled to hide the house parts. Thank you! I love the little boxes too!

I printed this but all of the pieces were not connected. Did I forget something for the hinges?

Be sure to check "print thin walls" in your slicer setting!

I did mine with regular PLA. But some brands are more flexible than the others. Maybe two or three of fifteen broke because the pla wasnt flexible enough. But in general, PLA works fine because of the print's orientation.

I printed a few of these, they are great, but when I put mine together I get a white crease line on the corners. In your pics, it appears your color remained constant on the corners. Is there something in the slicer that needs to be enabled/disabled? I'm not sure what' I'm doing wrong. TIA...
