Hello my beloved friends!

This is a special project i made recently for a member of my family. My goddaughter had a baby just before Christmas. She is relatively young, so no need to say that at this age, your ressources are limited, especially when you are a single mom.

So i decided to design something for the newborn's bedroom. Something cute, safe for the baby, that will bring some joy and happiness into her home. So i've decided to design floral letters to write her name on the wall.

And guess what? Decorative letters are very trendy those days!!! So i tought you would like to sell some in your store maybe!

So instead of making only the name of the new baby as a personnal gift, i've decided to turn this project into an "official patreon project" and i made a complete floral alphabet to write whatever you want on your walls!

The 26 letters are all different. No floral pattern is repeated. I have made 11 different types of leaves, and i placed them one by one in each letter to create a different pattern from one letter to another. Took me a bit of time, but the result is just perfect.

This is super easy to print. You don't need a multicolor printer, you only need to make some color changes at the right layers. Any conventional printer can do it!

When printed at 100% (original size) and with a layer height of 0.2mm, the layer changes will be at:

-2.20mm

-3.40mm

-4.60mm

If you are not familiar with color changes, here's a quick tutorial on how to do it. It is almost the same procedure in every slicer:

https://help.prusa3d.com/article/color-change_1687

You can scale up or down the letters. The green ones are printed at 50% of the original size.

The pink ones are at the original size.

I have also included a complete bambulab project file, with all 26 letters already set with the color change at the correct height.

To stick them to the wall, i will use some small pieces of 3M double side tape. The one made especially for walls. You can find some on Amazon.

In any case, if you have any kind of questions, feel free to send me a private message. I will try to help you as much as i can!

Have fun my friends! Hope you like them! 😊😊😊

Love it I wanted to make some scrabble letters

Dale Salter

These are great is there a way to get an & made?

sNp

Thank you these are adorable

MakersChoice

Ditto this comment. Can we please have an ampersand " & "?

Allen Smith

Very awesome! I've been wanting to do something similar as light boxes, but haven't had the time yet - as all 26 letters is quite the project in Fusion! Again, excellent work!

Aaron G

Mamma mia this is just beautiful. Can you please remind us if we are allowed to sell prints?

Keri Zwerner

Thinking the same, these could make great light boxes. Wonder if a cover for each letter (to be printed very thin in white) would be easy to add?

Allen Smith

I do lightboxes, but will work on these from scratch, so as not to steal his hard work. I love all the effort he puts in to get us all these great designs.

Allen Smith

If you are a paid $10/mo member, yes - as long as you are still current at the time.

My son and his wife were just about to order some custom letters for my granddaughter's room! Perfect timing!

Hi pascal loving your work love the floral letters but could you make a & sign for them so you can write two people’s name like Paul & Gemma

Katie

Oh yes, and a ❤️ would be fab too! Thank you, Pascal, these are amazing! Can’t wait to print them.

the 3 mf file is coming up with a message saying it created with beta version so it brings up the letters all in black no colors .

PA1 MAKER

I will try to make that today! 😊

PA1 MAKER

Hi Kelly! It is normal that all the letters are black, because the colors are not painted on the part directly, they are color change at height programed in the slice. If you slice one of the plates, you will see the preview in multiple colors and you will notice the color change on the slider on the right at the specific layers mentioned in the description. ;) For the beta version, don't know why you're having this message. I will try to have a look at it, but i'm using the latest version of Orca Slicer.

Kelley G

its the file called complete for bambu

Anna Vinding

I was thinking the same. I think it should be easy to just add the box part of it. I’ll try for my name when I get a chance.

Escrich

those are fantastic!

PA1 MAKER

Yes, the bambulab project file. It is normal that all the letter are black at the start, you will see the colors only once the plate is sliced. Like i said, its not the letters that are painted in the bambu file, the color change are set in the slice directly. Not on the letters. Take one plate of the 26 plates, slice it, and you will see the preview with all the 4 colors. Its another way to make color change in the slicer. The color change are not attributed to a section of the part, but instead at a specific layer height in the slice. You can see the four colors on the preview slider on the right. By doing this this way, you only have only 4 colors change in the whole printing process. If you paint the letters directly with the paint tool, you may notice some unappropriate colors in the middle of a certain layer sometimes. Which add a lot of printing time because you will have unnecessary color changes. With a color change at height via the slicer slider, you cannot have this kind of problem. You will have 4 precise color change which makes the print faster. ;) Here a link to help you with this. As you can see, colors are set via the slider, not the part. That's exactly how this project is done.: https://lostintech.co.uk/2023/07/25/how-to-change-colour-at-layer-height-in-bambu-slicer/

Which colour filaments have you used? Looks brilliant. New series for you. Halloween, Christmas, Easter.

Mark Armstrong

Thanks for the explanation on this - I previously had a project i'd created where I was using the paint tool to paint "by layer" and it made a mess of it exactly as you've described. I hadn't thought to put the colour change in the preview section.

PA1 MAKER

Glad my comment was helpful Mark! 😊 Same here. I have used many times the paint tool for this kind of color change, and it was a mess each single time. There's always a layer or two somewhere with more than one color (for absolutely no reasons) and in the end, a 1hr print ended up in a 3hrs one just because of those software errors and the useless multiple color changes. Much easier to use the "old way" and prevent those time consuming errors. Glad i was able to help you with this. 😊

On my Bambu Lab X1, as soon as I make them larger than 100%, my colors get messed up... I lose the black background. Anyone else experience this?

Pokeball Empire

Hello, I love the design and am currently printing my daughter's name, I just wanted to know if the letter N is necessarily curved in the middle or is it intentional. Because with M or W this wave is not or barely visible

Candi

Is it too soon to put a wish list for spider webs for a Halloween alphabet and snowflakes for a winter one? <3

Paul Houston

These are awesome. How about a boys theme, like simple rocket ships or something similar? These would go down well!

Escrich

That would be great, ROCKETS ALWAYS!! jaja

Ryan Gamble

I love these! I wish there were numbers too...

Whiskey Woodworx

I recently joined the group as a member and came across these letters. What I am curious to understand is the font style used to create these letters. Would that be information that can be shared? My purpose for asking is that I would like to mount these letters to a wooden background and utilize my wood CNC to outline the letters. This will help to ensure I place the letters evenly and in a straight line. I'm combining 3D printing with woodworking. Thanks

PA1 MAKER

Hello my friend! First welcome, and thanks a lot for supporting my work! The font is "TAHOMA", a common font in mechanical 3d softwares. You should be able to find it easily. :) Have a great day! Pascal

These files were printing great for us, and the color changes lined up great, but now when I go to slice them it's almost as if the colors no longer line up with the layers they're suppose to? Layer 12 and on is all white. Any help would be appreciated!

PA1 MAKER

Hey friend! :) Did you scaled them up or down? Or did you change the layer height?

PLAground Shop

Didn’t change the layer height but did scale them up!

PA1 MAKER

that's why. Color changes for this type of parts are set by layers and not painted. If you scale them up, it will change the layer number where the color change is supposed to happen. Simply adjust the colors on the slider of the preview window after slicing the part. You will see the color change on the slider, simply adjust them to fit the new height. You have more info on why it is done this way in this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/color-change-at-105881365?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link

PLAground Shop

the problem seems to resolve itself as long as i do uniform scale - thanks!
