🗝️🍓Nana 🍓🗝️ for Nucleus Portland [Preview] (Patreon)

Hello Patrons,

Today I am sharing something a little different from what I usually do !
I am part of a show at Nucleus Portland called Ani-May Scroll show, and the theme is anime ! I got to choose the anime/manga and of course I picked Nana. I spent my teenage years reading Nana and admiring Ai Yazawa's work ! 🌹🍰

I made this one digitally - with my solo show coming up, I couldn't afford to spend too much time on a painting for this project. It was a challenge for me because I feel like my digital pieces aren't as good as my paintings on paper.
Plus I love Nana so much, I didn't know what to draw (too many good options, outfits, couples, scenes, elements...). So I did something simple : Nana, Hachi, strawberries and Vivienne Westwood.

Here's the doodle I quickly drew in my sketchbook :

I tested a few options for the background, I'm not sure which one I prefer (I wanted to recreate that manga vibe) :

I might change the position of their hands though, I want them to really hold hands !

This illustration will be available as a scroll and limited to 25 copies.

Ani-May Scroll Show // May 3 - Jun 1, 2025
Opening Reception: February 7 / 5pm - 7pm

I have been thinking of doing a Nana fanart for years !! There's a bunch of sketches in my iPad. Nucleus Portland gave me this opportunity. But now that I've made one... I need to make more !! Can't wait to have some free time again this summer to draw more fanarts. I really miss it !

Please raise your hand if you're a Nana/Ai Yazawa fan too 👋

I hope you'll like it !! And feel free to let me know which background you like best.

Thanks again for your support on Patreon 🧡✨

Hugs,

Sibylline
