Little Witch 🐈🌙 Process + Preview (Patreon)

Hello Patrons !

Here's a new illustration I did last week ! October is around the corner and of course I want to draw little witches and spooky cats ! 😼

For this piece I wanted to paint witchy elements on a blue background. I wanted to paint the background with gouache but add some texture to it to make it look more like a painting (and less clean/digital). I added more water than usual to the paint and I like how it turned out :

For this piece I picked a color palette that I love : teal and coral. 

I then added some orange and yellow for the smaller elements :

The first painting session for this piece (just painting big shapes and blobs with one color) was my favorite part.
I then had to outline all the little drawings without really knowing how it will turn out - maybe I should have painted less details (because the main goal here was too be looser than usual). But I guess I can't help but paint tiny little details everywhere (made an effort for the black cats though !)
