Cupid 🏹❤️ Preview + Process (Patreon)

Hello Patrons !

New painting !! I just finished this painting of Cupid, thank you for sharing your enthusiasm about the sketch last time ! It really motivated me to paint it 🥰

I didn't document the whole process, I was super focused and wanted to finish it as soon as possible. So this is what it looks like after 1h30 of painting :

Second session :

I forgot to add the heart shaped ribbon when I traced the sketch on paper, so I had to do it over the painting : 

Red acryla gouache is not opaque and if you want a solid red layer, the best way is for your base/background to be white. So I painted the ribbon white first, then red (as you can see below) :

Finished painting !

I completely failed at painting symmetrical rays above her head because I did it free hand - so I had to use white paint to cover the first try (you can see it on the picture on the left side of her head). I was so mad at myself because this is literally the last detail I added to the painting and I ruined it 😩

The corset was super fun to paint, I used a Fragonard painting as reference ! Also the big satin bows were surprisingly satisfying to paint ✨
