Sailor Sid Diller had an impressive collection of tattoos from what could be considered a relative rarity during his most active years (1970s-80s)- openly gay tattoo artists who worked during an era where the tattoo community wasn't so welcoming to anyone who wasn't a straight white male.

His backside features work by Cliff Raven (Icarus/Merfolk back piece), Robert Benedetti (waves on butt) and Mr. Sebastian.

Sid tattooed and pierced out of his Silver Anchor Studio (his home) and was never what you'd call a gifted tattooist like the artists who worked on him, but his place in the history of tattooing is no less interesting because of it.
