Have I posted this one before?
It's easier to write this blurb than to search and see if I have.

Jack Yount- pictured left- traveled extensively in his retirement years, often meeting other body modification fans at tattoo convention hotels for show/tell documentation. Some, like Joe Bailey- pictured right- better known by the nickname Inkpad, chose heavy tattooing (primarily by Don Nolan) to accentuate his body. Others, like M.B. (middle right) were self-described "smoothies" or nullos- full genital removal as their modification avenue.

These hotel meetings would be the main inspiration for the original Modcon event, held in Toronto, Canada in 1999. To take modification out of backrooms or clandestine hotel room meetups and give it it's due turn. Of the men pictured here, only MB would make it to the Modcon events, but he very much represented the original demographic that we wanted Modcon to appeal to.

By the fifth and final MC event, genital modification had been pushed aside by more in your face visible modifications like tongue splitting, ear pointing, and facial/hand implants, and the average guest was more than half the age of our original group. Times do, and must, change- but that doesn't mean it's always change for the better.
