Kinsey 78 (Patreon)

Kinsey was visiting the NY apartment of Jim Anderson - known by PFIQ readers as Jim A (who holds the distinction of being the first Prince Albert piercing client of legendary piercer Jim Ward) - when this photo was taken. 

There are plenty of photos of Kinsey in our archives; usually fully naked, displaying his tattooing & body piercing, exploring his sexuality via play piercing scenes, but there's something about this portrait that I love. Its hard to explain how stigmatizing and transgressive something as simple as a single ear piercing on a male was in America in the 1970s and this photo is a reminder to me of how piercing has evolved over the years; much more subversive than piercings hidden.
