Hey, about time this got sent out to you guys, sorry for the delay, it's been a bit more hard work than I anticipated to get my head around the LIDAR models. Anyway, here we go, this version of Thunderhill builds on the previous release, except the track mesh has been refined in key areas to make it more accurate to the lidar data. You can see in the image (highlighted blue) the areas which have been adjusted. Download -> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kvmfqx11BbNFXfCwoctPGBLluNx-X7HK/view?usp=sharingNow my workflow is back up to speed I hope to get some more of this track re-done with lidar data, mainly the areas that join the 3 mile and 5 mile layouts together, but which areas do you think need priority? Due to the size of the files I can only really do a chunk or group of corners at one time, so working, and testing as we go seems to be the best idea. One more thing, How do you find the look of the road surface in this release and my last few tracks? I feel like I've reached a happy medium between quality, and overall aesthetics of the asphalt now with my current export settings, but please let me know if it should be brighter, darker, less reflective etc. AI should still work fine, but if they go a bit crazy on your, hold down shift key on the keyboard when you start the event and it should re-calculate the track boundaries for youThanks, TyroneSide-note: I have simplified my logo a bit, what do you think?  Also you can see Jimmy Broadbent drive my version of Jeddah here. https://youtu.be/DvEf1zHB2lc V2 is out now, and the track has over 4000 downloads on Race Department. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/jeddah-street-circuit-f1-2021-night-race.40825/ Tiametmarduk has also done a video on the track and that has 128,000 views, so I'd say as a promotion for my Patreon it's worked pretty well, a warm welcome to anybody new who found me through the Jeddah track!

Hi. My daughter will be racing here IRL. I was wondering what the status of this track is? Is it complete? Also, is it up to date with the current IRL layout? Thank you very much for your work!

Biggest area that needs adjustment is the JUMP on the west/2-mile side between turn 3 (triangle corner cut) and turn 4. Absolutely isn't there in reality and really messes with the flow of the track. It's very smooth there in real life. The track transitions are actually a bit wonky in real life too, especially where the connector from East meets the west side.

If you need any onboard video, let me know as I’d be happy to share! I’ll give a try soon!

I just did a few laps on west. Didn't seem like anything was different? The Thunderhill version within CM still shows .91 for me for what its worth. Also seemed like normal vs reversed west had a different map layout preview. Not sure if one is the old vs new lidar? Someone had mentioned this last update but i also lost my delta timer. Would be nice to get that back if possible. Is that an error on my end or the maps?

Congrats on the new Patrons, the latest update of Jeddah is epic and can't wait to try Thunderhill! Thanks!

Hi Andrew, the fact you didnt notice anything different is actually a compliment towards the old version! if you want to check it's the new version you're running, and have the f7 cam enabled, if you move the camera under the track you'll see my referenced lidar meshes. I'll take a look at the missing delta timer, and sorry for forgetting to change the version number!

Hi Ben, Thanks for the feedback, i'll take a look at fixing this jump in the next release, it shouldn't be far away now.

Loving Thunderhill, I've only raced IRL on the three mile circuit, with and without the hill. I don't live in California anymore so this is as close as I can get to being on Thunderhill again and using VR it feels very realistic. My buddy David (who provided many suggestions) and I have had some epic battles on your track, many thanks for your efforts!

For the West course, there is not supposed to be a bump after T2 going into the straight (where east course connects to west). IRL this is very smooth and seamless. Also adding to the above comment from Benjamin, right after T3 there is an incline then a decline that can easily launch you off track right before T4. This is not there IRL. Another issue is that there is dip on the apex of T8. IRL it's a relatively smooth uphill to downhill transition. Lastly, I think it would be helpful to include a map of for beginners when they are on course, so they don't get lost. Overall, this update is great and fixed a lot of the issues. Keep up the good work!

Tyrone, great work overall so far on Thill! I agree with Joe Liu on where there should not be any dips or bumps. I've driven the 2 mile course IRL in a Radical SR3, so that's my reference point. Looking forward to the next version; it's getting close to perfect.

Thank you Tyrone for making this Thunderhill track! It is one of my favorite tracks in the region, I have driven it many times, and I am thrilled to have it in AC for practice driving. The East (3-mile) track is pretty darn accurate at this point. If you want to add a bit more realism to the naming convention, the T5 turn that goes up the hill is known as the Cyclone, and the configuration where you skip the hill is known as Bypass. So when you run the East track the configurations are known as Thunderhill East (Cyclone) and Thunderhill East (Bypass). One little thing I would ask you to add if possible, at the apex of the last turn T15 that leads onto the front straight, the track has a number of traffic pylons (orange poles) separating the pit entrance lane from the track. That was the one thing that kind of broke the illusion for me and reminded me that I was driving a sim and not the real thing! Here is a video showing the pylons. https://youtu.be/_uSsZU3761E?t=128 There are also a few cones after the start finish line, separating the pit exit lane from the track as well, if you want to add those too. But really, East is quite good as it stands so thank you!

and my quick feedback on Thunderhill West (2-mile) track, T8 feels a little too flat, in real life the track definitely climbs up to the apex and then down the other side to T9. https://youtu.be/BP5B5RcZtuY?t=69

Super! thanks for the feedback - I've done a lot of work on the 2-mile since the last update, using the LIDAR data I did notice T8 was way to flat. You'll see a vast improvement in the next update. I'll also add the traffic cones and re-name the layouts. Again, great help, thanks for this, Tyrone

you're awesome! looking forward to trying the new version.

Benjamin Bunch

I would note that on the connector from east to west near T2W if IRL if you are on left side of track there is a noticeable dip into the turn that can upset car so people keep to the right there.

Joe Liu

it's pretty smooth every time I've driven here. the ideal driving line is to hug the inside(left) and track out: "https://youtu.be/zsSzZMqbH7U?t=268" this was smoothed out a little bit in recent part2 update but still apparent.
