The room seemed to shrink in on itself, the subtle hum of the city outside fading into a distant murmur as Dr. Jacob’s voice filled the space. He leaned back slightly, his eyes sharp, yet his posture remained relaxed, as if this were just another session for him, nothing out of the ordinary.

“Close your eyes,” he instructed, his tone soft but firm. “Breathe in... and out.”

Alex followed immediately, his chest rising and falling in sync with the calm, controlled cadence of the doctor’s voice. His broad shoulders seemed to relax with each breath, the tension that had been in his posture moments ago dissolving. Tyrone, sitting next to him, hesitated. His gaze darted toward Alex, then back to Dr. Jacob, his brow furrowed in silent resistance.

“Trust the process, Tyrone,” Dr. Jacob said, his eyes locking onto him, a faint smile curling at the edge of his lips. “You’re still in control, always in control. Just allow yourself to relax.”

Tyrone’s jaw tightened, but he exhaled slowly, leaning back into the couch, his arms crossed loosely over his chest. He didn’t close his eyes, though. His gaze remained sharp, watching the psychologist intently, his skepticism still evident in the way his muscles remained subtly tense.

Dr. Jacob didn’t push him, not yet. Instead, he focused on Alex, whose body was already starting to melt into the soft cushions of the couch. “Good,” he whispered, his voice almost a purr. “Feel the weight lifting from you, all the stress, all the doubt... Let it go.”

Alex’s head tilted slightly, his tattooed arms resting heavily on his thighs. His breathing had become slower, deeper, as if he were sinking into a deep, restful sleep, but his body remained upright, his muscles loose yet still formidable. The rhythmic rise and fall of his chest seemed to synchronize with Dr. Jacob’s words, and soon his eyelids fluttered shut.

Tyrone’s eyes narrowed as he watched his brother slip further into the trance. His own breathing was shallow, as if he were holding back. He clenched his fists, the veins on his forearms bulging slightly, but even he couldn’t ignore the strange calm that had settled over the room. The air itself seemed thicker, charged with a low hum of something unspoken.

“Tyrone,” Dr. Jacob’s voice pulled his attention back, “you don’t need to fight this. Just breathe. Let the tension go.” The psychologist’s gaze never wavered, his tone coaxing but never forceful. “In... and out. You’re safe here.”

Tyrone’s resistance faltered for a brief moment. His breathing hitched, and then, almost reluctantly, he began to follow the rhythm. Slowly. Hesitantly. His eyes flicked to Alex again, who was now slumped deeper into the couch, his large frame seeming weightless, his lips parted slightly as if he were on the edge of sleep.

Dr. Jacob’s voice remained steady, a gentle hum in the background, barely louder than a whisper. “You’re doing well, Alex,” he murmured, his attention shifting between the two brothers. “Now, let’s go deeper...”

Alex’s breathing became almost imperceptible, his eyelids fluttering again, but this time they remained shut. Tyrone’s jaw clenched again, his body fighting the invisible pull, but his breathing had synced with the doctor’s words. His eyelids, heavy with doubt, flickered as he tried to stay focused, to stay alert, but the room seemed to blur at the edges.

“Feel the calm wash over you,” Dr. Jacob continued, his voice now a steady, mesmerizing rhythm, “with each breath, you sink deeper into relaxation. There’s no need to resist... just let go.”

Tyrone’s resistance faltered once more. His body seemed to sag into the couch, though not with the same ease as Alex. His arms remained tense, his eyes still half-open, as if he were teetering on the edge of control, not fully willing to fall.

“Good,” Dr. Jacob praised softly, his tone light and encouraging. “Now... listen to my voice. It will guide you. All you have to do is follow.”

Alex let out a soft, almost imperceptible sigh as his body fell completely under the spell. Tyrone, still on the edge, exhaled slowly, his chest rising and falling in time with the rhythmic commands.

Dr. Jacob watched them both, his eyes gleaming with quiet satisfaction. He leaned forward, his voice lowering to an even more hypnotic tone. “Now, when I count to three... you will both stand up. Calm, steady... completely under my guidance.”

Tyrone’s fingers twitched, as if some part of him wanted to resist, but his body no longer felt like his own. The heaviness in his limbs had taken over, and despite the warning bells still ringing faintly in his mind, he couldn’t fight the calm that had settled over him.

“One...” Dr. Jacob’s voice was soft, almost a whisper. “Two...”

Alex was already shifting, his muscles responding to the command as if on autopilot, his eyes still closed, but his body moving in perfect sync with the hypnotic rhythm. Tyrone’s chest heaved as his body, too, began to obey.

“Three.”

Both men stood, their massive frames rising in unison, their eyes half-lidded, gazing at nothing. They stood still, their bodies towering over the psychologist, who now stood as well, his posture relaxed but commanding.

“Come to me,” Dr. Jacob said, his voice the only sound in the room. Without hesitation, both brothers stepped forward, their movements slow, fluid, completely under his control. They stood beside him now, facing the empty couch where they had just sat, their expressions blank, their minds fully submerged in the trance.

Dr. Jacob smiled—a small, satisfied curve of his lips—as he looked from one brother to the other.

“We’re just getting started,” he murmured, almost to himself.
