tracie thoms (karen) is fairly well known in the musical theatre world! i highly recommend checking out the musical falsettos, that's one of my favourite shows that she plays a fairly big role in. she's only in the second act unfortunately but she's so good in it. (you can find a several bootlegged versions of the proshot on youtube in various quality) fair warning, it is a emotional one but i love it.

It is. Like Eddie's entrance is iconic, but objectively - having all your future coworkers watching you getting dressed and commenting on how hot you are is SO odd, lol.

yay to your first begins episode! they don’t follow a formula so not all are stand alones like this but i think you’ll enjoy them. they are all so special. you aren’t wrong that there’s another soon so you probably did see that title coming up. i won’t say when or which but it’s my favorite so i’m excited for you to get to it.

Minorities who look down upon other minorities have NEVER made sense to me. Someone told me about "Gays for Trump" and that was....a real dystopian moment for me because wtf do you mean!?!? That 🍊 psycho hates you too! You ever think about how, if ALL minorities took a united stand together against all oppressors, we'd no longer BE a minority? It drives me nuts actually. Anyway, I've never truly wanted a character from a tv show to die as much as I wanted Gerrard to die. I did enjoy how the rage made you laugh uncontrollably though 🤣🤣 9-1-1 EXCELS at their begins episodes and I just want them all back to back to back RIGHT now cuz they're all so good. For me, my least anticipated one is Eddie's because I'm NOT looking forward to any military stuff. And I do want to see Maddie's backstory more because even though it will destroy me to see her like that, I just think I'd still "enjoy" JLH bringing her A game with the emotions than I would seeing yet another "oh this guy served in the military he's got PTSD from the horrible things the US army made him do in the name of patriotism to a fascist colonising country but it's okay because he's a war hero" storyline.

It's genuinely one of the most disheartening things to see imo, like we are literally people who understand what it is like being a minority, hoW DO YOU NOT MAKE THOSE CONNECTIONS WITH OTHERS???? Makes me wanna scream. It's even with the UK laws around trans women recently, how other women think that the best course of action to tackle male violence is... to blame... other women? 🙄 Honestly now that you have worded it that way, I think my opinion has definately shifted. Like I want to see Eddies story cause I love him, but you're right in that the military stuff won't exactly be a groundbreaking story. Plus stories like Maddies are not talked about or shown enough, so I think I might even just switch em around fully, even if Maddies will be hard to watch 😭

YESSS EXACTLY! It literally just dawned on me reading your reply that it's so true. In the media I've consumed we've not had to deal with domestic violence in a way that doesn't, insensitively put, sensationalise it. I have faith that 9-1-1 won't do that with Maddie, whom we've all grown to love in such a short span of time.

Also, yes to the UK laws that have women blaming other women for things that men do. Did you read about that all-women's gym that some lady called Natalie was starting up, raised the funds as someone who said her gym was a safe space for all women, trans women included, then backtracked the moment she got the funds. The arguments I've had on TikTok...have literally given me migraines.

Oh trust and belive I have been following the gym thing, so ridiculous 🙄 its literally the vibe of 'oh well, it was popular to be inclusive before so I said that to get followers, but with the rise on trans hate, they're not allowed in my gym anymore' like girlie WHAT???? Crazy how people can hold their morals so lightly
