I love that you pointed out how odd (realistically) it is for Eddie to reach out to Buck with help in this. Buck doesn’t have kids and top of that, there is the Diaz parent dynamic he’s not a part of. Which, I think, makes it much more poignant as a viewer as to how Eddie may see Buck’s role in his family.

i despise eddie's parents in this episode bc you can literally see helena smiling as she helps christopher out of the house, and while you could argue she's just smiling to comfort chris - i fully believe it's bc she finally got what she wanted - a second chance do-over to raise eddie's son as her own and completely undermining eddie as christopher's parent by not even contacting eddie to ask him why christopher is calling them, just bc chrsitopher asked you not to, to win brownie points with him - and just being like "well, christopher wants to come live with us. we got what we wanted bc you did exactly as we thought you always would and failed him as a parent." - and you have the audacity to be smiling as you take his son away from him when you see how devastated he is? AND then they somehow managed to find a way to blame shannon, a dead woman, for it all???? shannon has no control over whether eddie meets her doppleganger and decides to date her??? the absolute disrespect? hey make me irrationally angry (maybe not quite as angry as the buckley parents do, but pretty close.)

Buck and Tommy's "daddy" scene...has caused the Buck/Tommy fandom to spiral a bit LOL. I actually HATE that Eddie's parents were involved in this whole thing. And it doesn't make sense to me. I don't think we've seen Chris being so close to them. He's closer to Abuela and Tia Pepa. And, honestly, I thought if he wanted to live anywhere else, he'd have chosen the one adult he's closest to outside of Eddie - Buck. Chris might not hate his grandparents (which I certainly do, because they very much feel like two people who finally got their 2nd chance with a new son, barely caring for the son they actually have), but he's not close enough to them to ask for this either. Idk. I'm not a fan of this storyline. I LOVE that Chim and Maddie took Mara in. I hope that Ortiz lady doesn't find out their connection to Hen and Karen, and that it resolves soon. It's spiteful to involve a child in some twisted revenge plot. Mara doesn't deserve that. I'm so glad it wasn't Amir who caused the fire. I would have hated that. He's already lost so much. I'm glad they ended his storyline on good terms. RIP to his actor, Malcolm- Jamal Warner. I hate the ending of this episode. Wtf.
