Well, can't say I am surprised with where have ended up in regards to Elle, but my god was this a dark direction for her to go in. I am still in shock that she was put in the field in the first place but, whats done is done. Curious on where this is going...

There is an entire show about sexually based offenses.... Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It started in 1999 and is still on...headed into season 28. The lead actress started a foundation to help victims. And has pushed Congress and various states to process rape kits. There are backlogged rape kits (over 2 years or more since the event). How can crimes be solved if the evidence isn't processed? Depending on the statute of limitations in the state, the evidence may not even be processed while the offender can still be charged with it. So, unfortunately, rape victims are still not treated as well (and the crime processed as well) as someone who is attacked and beaten or mugged. A Congressional Reseach Review found an estimated number of between 100,00 and 400,00 kits in the US that have not been processed by a crime lab. The wide range of the estimate indicates that some places don't even know how many they have just sitting there and waiting.
