So, that was an episode. Not sure how the show is gonna function or feel going forward, safe to say I am not looking forward to next time... but we keep it moving. Gonna miss him 🧡

the first reason we were given for the death in post episode interviews was that tim minear wanted some stakes in the show. the characters almost die all the time and that can make people not care because we know they’re not really in danger. months after that we found out in another interview it was also for monetary reasons. budget cuts were happening at abc. the actor did not want to leave and the cast (mainly kenneth choi) were vocal against it happening. fans were very angry for a very long time. some still are. that said, i also couldn’t imagine the show without bobby but season 9 was a really good season. probably in my top 5 overall so hopefully that’ll ease some of your worries. i think the writers knew they needed to lock in or they would lose a lot of their audience.

what the fuck was that? was my exact thought when I first saw this episode. I have not watched the new season yet because I just can't get my head around the 118 without him.

There are times where a show handles a major character dead well like the originals with our girl or teen wolf… This was not one of those times. It was shocking and heartbreaking and just puts a wet blanket on a show ment to give comfort

Agreed. Minear said that he wanted to "up the stakes" or whatever for the emergencies and show that none of them are indestructible, but... that's the whole point, no? They have all these intense (and sometimes outlandish) emergencies and situations and they survive them. That's the comforting part. They all make it back home. This put a big wrench in my enjoyment of the show. I barely made it through season 9, and the only reason I did was because I love Maddie and Chimney almost as much as I did Bobby and Athena

This was my comfort show because I knew everyone was safe and then this episode happened. Everyone was pissed 😭. Still love my show but of course it will never be the same without Bobby.
