I ADORE Dana! She seems like such a maternal figure for the entire staff.

The scene with Gloria and the consultant Robby hates is a great comparison of different type of hospital admin types. Gloria comes off annoying in the show and her way of talking to Robby is gross but after meeting people in her role in real life I understand it better. She not only has to manage the many expenses of every department but also she is aware that the money her hospital brings in in a busy area is needed to fund hospitals in areas where there is only one hospital so if that closes people are without any hospital care in that smaller town. On the flip side that other woman is someone who is in it for the money, it's usually a person who either wasn't able or willing to finish the long road to being a doctor and is using that experience to get a job, but then is telling actual doctors how to do their job without any first hand knowledge

Ahhhh this is making annoyed at myself cause I remember wanting to talk about the difference between those two as I HARD agree. Gloria definately is one of those 'higher ups' where the system is what it is, she can't change it and someone does have to do the job to allow the hospital to function. Its a similar vibe to Robbie being harsh with Samira, he respects her but they need to be quicker or they're fucked. The other lady however is so business focused that her energy alone puts a bad taste un your mouth.

Don't know if you have ever seen it, but there is another show that used this format. It was called "24" and starred Kiefer Sutherland. It covered a full day, from midnight to the following midnight. Each episode being one hour of the day. It is such a cool concept that I wish there were a couple more shows that did it. I recognize that there are only some shows this would work for, but when it works it is incredible.
