What a chaotic episode, just watching it felt draining, I could not IMAGINE having to work in that environment 😭 bless them all and keeping my fingers crossed for Jake 🤞

I’m in love with Dr. Shen!

Dr. Shen is one of my favorite side characters… I am a Dr. Shen vibe maybe that’s why hahaha. Also, a lot of injuries during an MCI come from secondary sources: stampede, car accidents, overlooked care, etc.

Dr Jack Abbot is the night shift attending along with Dr Shen and he is also a veteran! You may not have heard it but Abbot came in after hearing about the mass shooting at Pittfest on a police scanner. He is also so awesome for donating blood that is strapped to his leg whilst he’s actively working to save people

This episode makes me think of one of my best friends. He is a Paramedic in Boston. On September 11, 2001, he and his whole crew got sent to NYC to help. What you were saying about the emotional trauma the medical workers experience is so real! He was in therapy for several years. He also refuses to talk about it with anyone else, because he doesn't want to relive to trauma to satisfy someone's curiosity. He is still a Boston Paramedic to this day. This episode is the closest I've ever been to seeing even a little of what he experienced that day and for several days after, as they searched for survivors.
