and, critically, hit a milestone on the sidequest i've been working on.
so draft 2 is about 5.5k words
the quest isn't finished, but the problem is
this game is very much an outlet for my doubts. if there is some kind of existential sorrow or concern i have, i think, okay that might make an interesting character or quest.
so i have written the problem, the question
i do not know what the answer is.
i do not know how the quest should resolve.
if i wrote something that had a singular good answer that solved it, it wouldn't be very interesting. i probably wouldn't have had that doubt in the first place.
so at this point, this is probably where i'm going to pass this over to cass and see what she thinks the solution, or the options of solutions for players to choose from, should be.
and then we'll write those later.
one thing i am looking forward to is the far-away testing period of getting this to you all.
an advantage of this format (including patreon) is that if you, in testing, think of a solution that we haven't, then we can just, like, write that in.
the disadvantage there is that this game probably isn't going to be very replayable for you to enjoy it, but i suspect it will still be meaningful
anyway it feels very nice to have hit this point for the first quest since i started this writing schedule.
(note: writing out of order. so it's not the first quest chronologically in the story)
we ride on.
