and that problem is this song.

i'll be honest, i've kind of procrastinated the heck out of posting this version i got last week because i wasn't entirely sure how i felt about it. i didn't really like it at first and then i kind of warmed up to it the more i listen to it trying to figure out what i don't like. now i'm just ????? idek how i feel about it

but we have the piano pieces back in which is the most requested thing from last time. i get the feeling he is not looking to make too many more changes but i will probably ask him to change the timing of those opening high notes. beyond that idk. so i guess rather than not posting it, maybe this is where it's most important to get other's feedback in.

is this better than the previous version??? worse? if so what about it? i personally liked the previous one better at first but the more i listen to this one i do think it's a distinct evolution of it. tell me your feels.

I put it on a loop. It quickly grows on me too. It is also very different from what you've shown us before. Anyway, I like it. Not sure how you'd make it better.

woah. honestly I love this version? like, at first the melody from the original was a little hard to recognize, but it still ended up alright. listening to it reminded me of updated theme songs after a tv show's been on for a while. distinctly like the original, but also something of its own. I really like it lol

Peanuts

I've listened to it a few times as well, and it seems ok to me. I really like the opening bit, but then the bass drop is a little rough. After the bass it sounds much better to me. I like the current theme since the melody is nice and smooth, and a little eerie. I really feel like the atmosphere of this version is very different from that of the original. If this is what you are going for, that's good, it certainly is not a bad theme.

Geoffrey Nelson

First impression, I think the techno portion in the first minute-ish is too high pitch. I feel the stretch between 0:20 to 0:48 is too repetitive. I would alter 0:34 to 0:48. Beyond that, I like it.

Geoffrey Nelson

The TL;DR: I like it, but it's too repetitive. More in-depth. I don't like the the first two non-piano notes (0:00 to 0:04). The one at the beginning makes it seem like it's glitched while starting IMO. 0:06 to 0:22 = I like it. 0:22 to 0:34 = I love it 0:34 to 0:47 = I see the need for it, but it seems too repetitive. Something slightly different should lead up to the next part. 0:47 to 1:01 = This and next part is my favorite part of the song. 1:01 to 1:17 = This and previous is my favorite part. 1:17 to 1:30 = I really like this part. 1:30 to 1:45 = I feel like this is just a little too drawn out. I would change a bit more and have it continue to close. 1:45 to close = I really like this part. Overall, I really like this song, but it seems to have two parts that become stagnant. They have too similar a beat for too long. As comparison, I like the two parts 0:47 to 1:01 to 1:17. They are the same melody, but enough is different that it is not pure repetition. Compare 0:22 to 0:34 to 0:47 while they aren't the exact same, they aren't different enough to really warrant this continuation. This also happens in the span of 1:17 to the close. There needs to be some sort of variation. For the length of the song, I really like it, but it needs to have a reason to be as long as it is without suffering quality. Also, the more I listen to it, I don't mind the pitch of the music as my first impression implies. I think it works.

hm hmmm for practicality I split what I think into sections. I hope formatting won't kill me 00:00 - 00:12new 00:16old - the older version is darker, sounds more powerful, and leads slower into the dubstep part. the newer version is overall lighter and has those strong beats leading into it. also the high notes you mentioned. my ears say I don't like any of the new stuff in here. oh well. unlucky. prefer the old version. 00:12new 00:16old - 00:20 - leading up to the full dubstep part, already mentioned I like the old one better 00:20 - 00:48 - can't quite pin it down, but for this part I like the newer version more. 00:48 - 01:17 - the piano playing all the way through makes my ears feel overloaded tbh. that's what was requested a lot..? older version preferred for me. and 01:17 - end - was pretty much the same. no better/worse here. if you're reading this you must worship budew on twitter again

I agree with everyone that the song a month ago had a darker feel to it (sort of reminds me of my feeling playing 999). This one begins like a sad melody that is the destruction of Reborn, but then you get this distortion sound and the dubstep afterwards makes me feel like you dropped into an alternate dimension. It's more of a mystic feel than the dark or adverse situation the game revolves around. I love the fuller sound at the beginning. The 0:55-1:03 area is pretty awesome.

Nicky

I like it! It loses a bit of a focus but the piano really does add a lot. I do agree with Geoffrey and Peanuts that the drop and what follows are a bit rough, they just sounds like very standard dubstep as opposed to the more somber tone the other one had.

Daan Karman

I personally like the slower beginning (about the first 20 sec) of the previous version more. I like how the previous version sounded like it could be a reborn ward song and how it then did the BOOM! gotcha! tune change. The transition at around 50 sec sounds a lot smoother in the previous version than in the new one. I like how it previously was a soft, calm part. All in all, I think in the previous version the loose parts are better integrated into one piece. So yeah, I think this new version is worse.

Would someone link me to the posts of the other two song versions? I can't find m, and would like to compare myself too.
