Those of you who were around here back during de-heckin'-cember may remember the post I made talking about Pyrolusite's Minimalist UI mod, which is currently available on the forum, and how he had given me permission to integrate it into the main game.

I was interested in doing this because although the current UI was not so bad, it was ultimately just color-adjusted from Essentials' default because I was always more focused on making the game content rather than dressing it up. However, more unique designs are always a plus for helping a game stand out especially from the increasingly large crop of fangames... but that was ten months ago by now.

Well, over the past couple months he's spent a lot of time updating that mod that covered mostly just pc battle and summary things to cover just about everything from online to the start up load screen. ... We're not using all of that, and much of it we're not using as is. But I have pulled some elements from that update in and tweaked them to better fit the game. Here's some examples below.

this was pretty much the singular last thing that I needed to do for this episode, aside from bugfixes. you know where we're at from here on out.

I really don't want to take away from the subject of this post, because the new UI looks very slick and I'm SUPER excited about it being in E17, but I still can't get over the pixel art for the desert in the world map. Also - does anyone feel like Agate circus looks like a giant boat? The lower brown area forms the wooden structure, the Big Top where you battle Ciel/Samson/Terra is the ship's mast, and the area above that is its sail.

Awwww yis. I super hope that you included the updated Gear interfaces. No offense, but those are just a straight up improvement over the default look. I mean, if you didn't we can always mix and match, which is great because it lets you tailor everything to your own likes/dislikes.

Very Nice! That Continue/New Game sceenshot reminded me one thing I wanted to ask - would it be possible to implement multi-save for Reborn? I think I saw an essentials script for that but it would need some work because of Reborn backups. It would help me very very much though since I have multiple playthroughs. Renaming the save file all the time is quite bad.

do you happen to know where that script is still? you know thinking about it, RPG Maker supports multiple saves by -default-... Essentials probably had to work pretty hard to take it out...
