Internal Testing, Day 1 (Patreon)
Content
the flaw of a title like this is that it implies that there will be posts for the other days, which there mostly will not. oops. more below.
but everything was fixed up yesterday and so the thing has been graduated to internal testing finally. just in time too! the Folks were caught off guard a bit. that's ok. surprise.
that said, it's been kind of a rocky start. kanaya and jazzy were both starting the episode over to test from the start for all the 7th gen changes etc and we encountered a brand new sparkling bug that Inuki hadn't gotten just a couple weeks ago.
this bug is basically... so if a pokemon has less than 4 moves, the blank slots are considered empty, right? ...wrong!!! the game is now considering those blank slots to be moves (x-scissor in specific.... why X-Scissor of all things???) but since those moves are actually not moves, it is crashing every time you try to do anything with them, such as learn moves, catch a pokemon with less than 4 moves, or heal ever at all. oops.
this is pretty devastating for the early game but fortunately the testers debugged around it by giving themselves teams of higher levelled pokemon with all four slots already and then delevelling. however it's a pretty critical problem, so it is our top priority.
i believe this bug came about as a result of changing how the level up move array works after the error i described in which wild pokemon wouldn't learn moves they had at level 1. so shucks. but that's all the more reason why i'm glad we've got more waves-- for when fixes cause other bugs

i am leaving town for five days and will be back during the 25th. hopefully the internal test can run smoothly when i'm gone. as such i will not be making update posts until then though. i'm just going to visit my grandparents, and should have internet, but my grandparents are the type of people who Must Always Be Doing Something so I do not expect to have much in the way of time.
when i return it may take an extra day or two for me to catch up with all of the bugs and reports, but after that, and assuming there are no more major problems, we will begin alpha testing!!
