long sentences are an endangered species. in an effort to conserve the lives of long sentences everywhere, their usage in this post has been restricted by the FDA. also im tired.

eventing for area 2 now totally done, we story all day every day
for a few days or so

marcello has finished finishing updated ai potion usage. ai is now probably 3000% more stupid with potions, and takes no action ever. but after we fix seven hundred and eighty bugs in the beta testing phase they will be significantly less stupid with potions than before.

so he moved on to phase 2 of operation ai. during last episode we redid most function codes, and during testing/ai revision we added a clause to almost every set up move, and weather, and screens, retroactively that basically said 'if we have a killing move please dont do this'. this solution was fairly effective.

so anyway i just had him remove that.

the reason is because in a lot of cases the math involved was incorrect. as i've written before, for functions that can be both damaging and non damaging (imagine atk up effect-- both howl and power up punch) we use separate miniscore variables to separate the utility of the attack from its damage. however, even some moves that can never be damaging still use miniscore, and our score cut here only affects the main score variable. that means that the base value was being cut too harshly from the start, so it was technically incorrect.
and also, we're basically just factoring it out to apply to all status moves instead of only set up moves + weather + screens. so we're undoing a lot of bandaid work from before to save us time in the long run.

that's now been done. which means marcello can finally start on function codes. there's only, i forget what i said-- there's like 250 of those? so uh. wish him luck and great speed. 

on poison mono front i beat florinia earlier without much trouble... by which i mean i lead with toxic spikes american suicide and then my entire career was ended by breloom in the first battle, and then i came back with one (1) chesto berry to deal with spore and arbok ate through 4/6ths of her team pretty much alone, cradily included.

i have not given much regard to the young snake but consider me schooled. 

(he only fainted cuz i didnt want to use a potion on the last turn before cradily ded'd. rest assured quoille did almost all the work here.)
