misc updates

following a discussion on the server a couple nights ago, vullaby has been removed from the mystery egg and shoved into the people's favorite route, 2, instead. alola vulpix has been added in its place, making me VERY happy because i was pretty sure both vulpixes weren't in the mystery egg but now both vulpixes ARE in the mystery egg and that means that i'm doing something right.
(cuz there's supposed to be one pokemon for each type-- vullaby was dark. but sneasel was ice. so now sneasel is dark and a-vulpixpixpix is ice and this game is 230% better in my heart)

the AI issue i 'ported before have been mixed up and fixed up by the cellist. it was just a typo in a couple cases but it affected actually a lot of fields. good to catch before release

while i still haven't had the space i'd have liked in the past few days to properly work on reborn's story (growls about it) i think the situation has come down from it's boiling point and everything will be okay. starting next week i should have more time to myself but i'll have to shift my sleep schedule forward so lol... i'll be slightly less nocturnal, it's a great loss ;~;

and in the mean time i've been working on starlight a lot over the last couple days (sorely missed it, really must more often but i'm always like nawhh i should channel this energy into reborn which i do and that's probably fine but i miss it lol) because somehow coding is easier to focus on in the presence of others than dialogue zzzzz

so i have a few solid strides-- combat loop structure is complete, it closes after finishing the track, and it knows how to differentiate between the player's hits and misses, 's pretty huge. doesn't feel good yet, but that's okay, the first time is always rough.

since then i've been working turn-ending. this probably should have been super simple but it hasn't been, and see this is why the post title is clever is because all of my previous struggles are basically coming to an end but it's the fucking Wait command that's getting me. i've spent the better part of today hacking around with it to no luck and i've recently concluded i'm just going to have to rewrite the entire hover method to make it work properly so that it doesn't show the movement range of units who have already moved, since that wasn't added in the first place (and i still need it to show their health and stuff)
so yuck.
fortunately all the other parts have been fairly clean (at least after finding a plug in to tint sprites individually because apparently RPG Maker decided that wasn't a functionality worth keeping after 2k3)
and probably so will the actual directional choice part
so i'll continue to naively hope until i have no other choice left.

that is my despair.
