Discord is ago + 7/9 Animation Stream (Patreon)

ok first up, after several people mentioning their interest for it to me, i've wasted no time in getting that server i mentioned going! it is now live, and i have placed it in the $3 tier because i hope to stream a little more casually with it in the future in addition to the ones i announce ahead of time

...and i was very surprised when a handful of people immediately appeared in it after i installed the bot, which i can only assume is because their accounts were already connected to patreon but
i was unprepared for nonetheless
like
"oh. uh. hi there suddenly."

i've also taken the initiative to install E18 discussion channels for those patrons who will have access to the alpha, even though it is not a thing just yet 👀

so if you are a patron who is already pledged to me and did not get added to the discord server right away it is probably because you need to connect your account to patreon for that to happen now!
and patreon would like me to point you to this link for instructions on how to do that!
...i thiiiink on that page you just have to do the thing at 2c but being that i am on the other side of things i don't know for sure-- someone confirm??

then i hope to see you all there~ don't let me be lonely~

speaking of the stream thing we'll have one last stream for E18's development tomorrow 7/9 at 3p MST-- that's my timezone, not EST!! make sure to check the link in doubt! it's basically the same time i always start at still.

tbh there aren't a wholllle lot of animations to review, but i need more reasons to stream anyway, so we'll go for it!!

speaking of the animation team, there's been somewhat of a swap... a handful of days ago, cass, the animator we tried out earlier in the year, approached me and said since she had graduated now she wanted to try helping out the team again, and should actually have the ability to do so now unlike before
cautious of setting up a scenario like last time, i politely declined.
...and then smeargle came to me and said he was stepping back from active animation due to personal reasons, although he would still finish the moves he started (much like how mde did)
...which would have left vulpes, who was originally cass's replacement, quite lonely as the only active animator. and truth be told, vulpes' pace hasn't exactly been great due to some irl issues of her own too.

so i basically turned around the literal next day and was like 'uh actually hey cass? jk if you wanna help i could use it'
and she was like 'sure cool'
though i have been cautious about repeating the same issue as before, i must put this to her credit-- though it was only a couple days ago, i've already gotten two animations started from her-- one which may already be finished and one which is just a base start-- but either way that's more than i got from her in a much longer time before, so i'm encouraged that hopefully this will work out after all.

cass also has a unique advantage for us, since most of what we have left to do is the 7th gen moves... it's sometimes difficult to find references for what they should look like because bulbapedia and the internet don't always have clear videos of it.
incidentally, cass makes a hobby of hacking software and has homebrewed her 3ds so she can hack in any move she wants. she told me she was going to run them through her magikarp to see how they looked, which, i guess means she has a magikarp that knows power trip, fire lash, solar blade and shore up

...if only corin-rouge had stolen that one...

so that's going well
and then today i got an update from vulpes as well telling me that her situation should be resolved and she should be able to be a lot more active as well. i have some new animations from her to back that up as well.

so despite smeargle stepping back, i'm pretty encouraged! new blood and new power on the team-- and i mean, it's not like there's a ton left to do. aside from z-moves, there's only about ~30 moves or so left to be started. many more to be finished... but still. like we're on the home stretch here.

on all fronts, really.

we'll see some of their animations tomorrow so come hang out~
