[Rewards] Oh, another server huh? (Patreon)

how long's it been since i last posted... 50 hours ish?
that's great, because it feels more like 298.

the last couple days have been a cocktail of being really inexplicably motivated/excited for starlight, but trying to focus myself to work the last little bit on reborn... and then just working on starlight anyway cuz marche is still getting his new laptop going after his previous one died so he's probably going to be the last thing we wait on for internal testing whether or not i hurry up with the last few outstanding bugs

but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

along with that, i continue to really really appreciate all of your support enabling me to work on my games like this because i really do love it
and at the current rate starlight might never be released because i'll explode from excitement first
which is really unlucky but let me do it anyway

speaking of non-sequitur transitions, i've been thinking about a couple QoL improvements for the patreon side of things:

-for my part, i'm going to start posting stream times and such in my time zone rather than EST (for record, i'm two hours behind EST). i've been doing that in the worldclock links the whole time and it's not like it should make a difference, but. going by EST has been what i've always done for popular convenience on the site
but it doesn't really matter in the same way here, especially with those links, so i might as well make it easier on myself

-more importantly for y'all, i want to try pulling together another discord server just for you guys. originally i hadn't planned to because, like, reborn discord exists, but i've thought recently it would be good to enable communication among each other in a better way-- a way that i don't feel private channels on the main server would be equal to
i'm hoping to pay more direct attention to that server compared to the main one as well, something i have renewed faith in my ability to do after spending more time in certain other reborn subcommunities lately
...and also, especially with the alpha coming up, i think it would be cool for you all to play it alongside each other more directly.

so that's something i'll probably look at getting together in the next week or so. i think patreon has some tools for it, but i haven't explored what they are yet or how automatically they handle. we'll see, but i hope you'll hang out with me when it's a thing !!

okay, so speaking of alpha
if all goes according to keikaku, which there is a significant chance it will not due to the volume of AI stuff involved, we might end up getting to alpha within the month.

for E17's alpha, i allowed access to it for new patrons right up until the start of it, even if they hadn't actually payed anything from pledge yet due to patreon's timing.
unfortunately, i saw a couple people who were allowed that leeway and then proceeded to get the alpha and drop out from pledging before ever charging anything
aside from feeling like that was somewhat duplicitous on their parts, i don't think letting that happen again honors the commitment you all as longer-established patrons have made,
so unfortunately, this time i won't be allowing people who pledge after the date of this post to join alpha. later-upped pledges and the few of you who've pledged since july 1st will pass tho. not tryna shortchange no one here.
and then if alpha ends up going through the next pledge period (which again, it very well might) that would be a different story at that time as well.
hopefully that works out better...
...especially with the server!
