short update tonight. firstly, for anyone who didn't see it on twitter or the discord server, here's my stream schedule for the rest of the week, including my annual Halloween stream (which is likely to be longer compared to past years):

shout out to alistair for getting me detention and claire in the first place and allowing me to do these btw. detention's already out, obviously, but i rather liked how it shaped up so i'm looking forward to the others!

as for actual updates, things are probably going to be a bit slow for the remainder of the month between these streams and everything else i mentioned last time getting situated. things are probably ok or will be eventually but month is safe estimate given circumstances + streams.

in the mean time, starlight now has functional in-combat health bars, which i will likely tweak the colors of still, and the combat UI window now reverses left-right based on the direction the attacker is facing...
so if a unit attacks a unit to their left on the battle screen, then the attacking unit is on the left on the combat screen. and visa versa for right.
but the question is, what about up/down? one will be either side. is there a strong preference about whether up should be left and right down, or the reverse?
this is basically the same question as in isometric tRPGs, if "up" moves cursor up and to the left, or up and to the right. usually that's a player option, and i could make this an option too, but it is frankly pretty trivial which is why i dont make more of a todo about it.

next step is reversing the combat track for counter attacking. that might be messy. also i've been putting together the class list so i'll eventually post that when i've got it better set. the classes' flavor is a little out there. but that's the only way i could be happy with it.

as for the post title, that's because time to push the story forward on reborn is limited by personal space and conflicts similarly to how it was for a while last episode. hopefully you could understand how the title would apply as a result.... jokes nope it ain't literal, just literal.
i updated zero's mug:

or, well, ZEL's mug. but shhh let me make the pun. old for comparison:

it was annoying me. also the old one was from the dark ages when i figured i was gonna drop the project two weeks later so i wasn't really caring too much about stuff. and it wasn't my design so i guess i didnt wanna messa round too much. but looking like grimsley bothered me and the expression didn't really suit them.

but i had set aside a handful of graphic needs to make during exactly this time, so its ok. we're gonna have one more pulse stream since we only did the one last time. but i cant show a lot else cuz you know spoilers and all.

hey look a sudden end to the post ok bye!

on one hand I like how neat it looks now because the hair looks waay smother now, it's super neat and i had been lowkey hoping their sprite would get an update some time. ... on the other I am trying really hard to take the tricolour eyes seriously but I legit can't lol. im sorry but all i can think of is 2000's deviantart ocs edit: ok this sounds pretty rude now that i reread it oops. but i guess my overall opinion is that i'm just... not a fan of that change, it's just Too Much if i have to be honest. idk how much this opinion counts considering i already admitted i dont like the concept as a whole, but I feel it doesn't translate very well onto the sprite. at first i thought you just made the eye blue, i had to squint a bit to notice the pink at all, and the yellow is invisible to me unless i actually zoom in. it's just too small an area to really convey the idea. tl;dr preferred solid yellow
