Main game complete! And upcoming plans (Patreon)

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHI
WE MADE IT*
to the end of the main game's development (which we are now affectionately calling e19M)
*not counting postgame
*or bugfixes and stuff... **
**yet
but there is a game so even if Nintendo comes and flips me that good bird tomorrow there is something you all will be able to play to completion, which has been the priority
so let's talk about the general roadmap going forward now that i don't feel like i need to tunnelvision quite so much
first up-- testing. in order to make sure the Emergency Game Deployment Program™ is fully functional and at least somewhat ready for human consumption in a worst case scenario, we'll be doing supervised and internal tests. however, no alpha or anything past yet, sorry.
supervised, for those of us who may be newly joining us, is certain people playing the game with me actively watching their every step. this is useful for helping notice bugs, but also getting a sense of other things that need to be corrected that a tester wouldn't normally notice.
since cass happens to be right next to me at pretty much all times, she has been the first person, and she has already completed her playthrough.. well... the final battle was a bit tough so we just debugged through it now until we have more feedback on if we need to nerf it.
but like, other than that it was completed.
the next supervised test will be done by ikaru, since he is the one who has done it for every episode. we'll start that once we clean up cass's.
then we'll turn it over to the internal team as a whole, and unlike before that doesn't need to have a set time limit so we'll just passively collect bugs from inside from then on while we work on postgame properly finally
so, what does postgame entail? well, if you haven't already, just go read this giant silly blob of text that cass so graciously provided everyone with. enjoy.
great, glad we got that out of the way! as you can see, It's A Lot
as far as postgame development goes, we've sort of mentioned it in passing, but cass is more or less going to be taking the reigns from me as far as reborn goes. she has a lot more energy for it now and is less committed to just getting-it-done than i am, which has its pros and cons but ultimately means she'll be doing a better job with it than i will.
it's not like i'm going anywhere either. i'll still be around for writing and spriting and whatever else needs me, but expect to see her at the vanguard of things more. maybe in these posts too.
in the mean time
starlight
i have said before that i intend to release a demo of starlight before the final release of reborn, for many reasons in part because i think it's important that the community knows what they could be sticking around for. cass taking over reborn postgame frees me up to finally focus on that and boy i am e x c i t e d
i'm also tired. so i may take a little time before i start throwing myself at that.
but
e x c i t e d
so expect some more posts from that soon. or maybe less soon since my next steps are kinda messy and uninteresting-- things like making sure animations can be properly aligned and stuff... we'll get there.
but with her help those things can go on more or less concurrently instead of one taking priority over the other
...geez, if finishing starlight's battle system takes too long it could be a tight race too.
in the mean time, thank you all for being here to help us get to this point, and for staying in with us in the this long final stretch (and, first stretch!)
it's gonna be quite a ride yet.
