first off, as usual, the usual, this time for all patrons who've pledged or increased during the month of may:

  • everyone's been added to the credit list, but please let me know if you want to be on there under a certain name (or not at all)
  • forum accounts have been hooked up to supporter status where possible, although there were a few of you who i could not find accounts for so if i am missing you please let me know!
  • messages for other stuff have been sent out and if you would like to call in a higher tier reward like the sprite request or whatever, as usual, please just let me know!

anyway.
i haven't exactly posted a whole lot this month, so this recap post may be less significant or recappy than one might otherwise hope. part of that is probably because until finishing the main story everything has been under the giant umbrella of Spoilerville and I gotta stay hushhush, and the other part is that it can all pretty much be summed up by the phrase 'finishing the main story'.

but that means i did meet the expectation i put out for myself in the last post of this kind, so that's cool.

but, i have some minor hopes that this some what-of-a-desert of posts will recede soon because as we get into the doing the postgame stuff we'll also be doing updates to the previous parts of the game that we will actually just be able to talk about and share freely and immediately
so like that's nice too

for instance! one thing we've recent changed is that we've made it so field damage (devon puzzle, serra mirrors, etc) can no longer KO your pokemon. the main reason for this is that damage like that was never meant to be able to make the player white out-- my understanding was that the last pokemon should be left with 1 hp, and to my experience that is usually what happens. but rarely all of a player's pokemon will faint instead of being left at 1 and they will just die. i think it may have to do with how the max HP gets divided in the same way that certain HP values can be used to abuse leftovers for a half percent more recovery.
so to solve that issue, nobody faints anymore.

things like that.
there's several more things i could talk about but will choose not to do so until they are actually fully implemented. so like, soon maybe.

in the mean time in this post-e19m phase we are still going through testing and as usual the AI is running over my entire soul with a tractor. the tractor probably also has budew art painted on it. it fucking sucks. there's one fight in particular that is just absolutely nonfunctional, but frankly, i always expected it to be. but that absolutely must be fixed before testing can continue.

we've also started on the nightclub a little bit here and there and by we i mostly mean cass and i've got a lot of custom graphics to catch up on. since everyone knows there's gonna be a nightclub, we'll be able to talk about and show that more freely in the coming and near future once it's actually finished up

but for now, i will leave you all on the edge of the desert
and pray you make it out alive
when you do, find the man who has three beards
he will tell you what to do next

The night club has always been a mystery for so long. Can't wait to see it when it is done.
