i mentioned it in the middle of stream, working on the sprite-- "this is for the anomaly battle-- wait, did i even tell you all what that is? "
i really could have at any point between now and, say, last october-- but clearly, i didn't-- it's been a thing that whole time, i really promise,
all the existing quests we've worked on the whole time have had and used them--
or maybe not all of them but most-- sometimes things happen
maybe i was holding it off for later, for one cold february morning, though it's rather warm this one, and also afternoon, waiting for the right moment, the perfect chance, to fill a desert between releases with just another small bit'tid of information about our plans in life and the world and postgame

so there's these legendaries, right?
you know the ones

and you wanna catch them, right?

at least i hope so

but here in post game, we're all about that high mileage content-- 'ame, what's that?' oh my god i just explained it on the stream, what do yoU MEAN it was 3 am where you were when i was streaming, god, get a better timezone--

remember when this post was about explaining what anomaly battles are?

they're just fxxxking battles, goddamit, don't get your hopes up-- though it would be nice if you did, just a little bit?

in an effort to have that gucci high-mileage contenti we are not content to allow you to simply find and catch your legendaries like the plebian gamefreak........... non,
for, in our never-ending quest to be a fuckin' bitch to our player base, we have added an additional step to that process

and as one might expect, that step is FITE

for some reason (that doesn't truly matter), the legendaries in reborn have been popping up  with these weird auras called anomalies and the thing that those auras does is make them real fuckin' assholes.

and specifically the thing that that aura does is it allows that legendary to act as the host and trainer of a horde of not entirely real pokemon! 

basically, anomaly battles are like theme teams based around the legendary!

this is the only circumstance under which the field is allowed to get """"""""weird""""""'"

you approach the pokemon! the pokemon approaches you with a knife in an alleyway, and once you beat the pokemon's anomaly team, you earn the right to try and catch them! 

all at once too-- no saving or pausing in between either, heathen*!! if you can't tear your way through both battles do you really deserve the pokemon !?!??!

( *unless this is really awful and everyone hates it. then we can talk about it ig..... but in the mean time we're being mean and you're gonna like it )

also! since the anomaly teams are only half-real, it's kind of an anything-goes scenario... like, pulse2 evs, other legends you've already seen, megas, ultra beasts... you name it, fam. strap on ya big [child title of appropriate gender] socks, cuz we gonna be aimin' to knock 'em off
