A new Meteor crashes onto the horizon! (Patreon)

as you may know, the main goals of the early game updates have mostly all been reasonable things like touching up old areas, streamlining story content, reducing unnecessary railroading and tedium, and generally trying to make the game a fresher and more welcoming experience for new players and replaying veterans alike. 

over the past few weeks, i've felt pretty great about the changes we've been making as small, practical bits of polish that we can implement without defying anyone's expectations or otherwise doing anything terribly extra.

or at least, that's what someone with a more reasonable and down to earth approach to development would say.

Though there's surely no shortage of sanctimonious things we could sing in their praises--things that would fascinate, advocate, celebrate, elucidate or otherwise ingratiate you all to their sudden appearance in the game-- are the best secrets not left unsaid?
Suffice it to say, we've brought in this technological trickster to stack the deck with the missing bit of magic the midgame needed to shine! ✧°:⋆ₓₒ

Q: okay but why

A: the simple answer is that i wanted to! and as I was planning out early game updates, I realized there is absolutely room for someone to help round out some holes in the story, and i got excited about the idea of adding in someone new for the finale. ✧

Q: why ace?

okay, brief history:
characters based on online league except some meteor, blahblah, will and ice made the meteor characters, blah,
but actually
when i asked will for a list of meteor admins from the old league's roleplay stuff, he gave me a handful and i left one out!

i was like gosh that's a lot of meteor characters, surely we won't need that many, that would just get confusing. I regretted it pretty quickly, but didn't act on it until now.
So, Ace was the one I left out. In the original RPs they were just kind of a dark brooding boring edgy guy but we already have like fifty of those and when going through the early updates I wanted an excuse to add in a little bit more fun and whimsy on meteor's side. so we kept the name and made an entirely new character from it. ✧

Q: they?? pronouns???

A: ace is our second enby main character and uses they/them pronouns! i said they were a guy up there because that was the old-old version of the character, but they are definitely non-binary now. don't get confused! ‧̍̊˙˚˙ᵕ꒳ᵕ˙˚˙

Q: wait won't this pad out or push back development time??

A: lol no, we've been getting ace in game for months already! ༶•┈┈⛧┈♛ ♛┈⛧┈┈•༶

Q: will this be announced publicly?

A: yeah totally i have more people to bribe. but like, in a bit, y'all get it first because ily normally i would say i'll announce it publicly in like a week but i still haven't announced the last thing (character endings) publicly that i said i would after a week so like, idk, it happens when it happens

A: ace is designed and sprited by the legendary ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆crimson｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆!
she knocked it so far out of the park that i think it exited render radius and despawned!

Q: do i have to replay from the start to follow e19 now???

A: you don't have to! i'm 100% confident that if you're picking up at the end of e18 you'll be able to follow everything all the same. we'll have a switch detecting if your game was started in e19 and can adjust based on that. ace is mainly there to support existing plot points and bring them to the same ends, rather than changing anything dramatically.
