[Starlight] The fall of Heaven and Hell (Patreon)

When on the sixth day, the Creator made mankind in Xyr image to rule over every living thing that crept upon the ground, it was not out of fondness, compassion, or even whimsy.
It was simply Xyr next game.
And like all games, they must come to a close eventually.
And when, long before the first day, the Creator made the Angels in Xyr image, and as they laughed alongside Xem through every existence, did they really think that their turn would not come?
So it was one day when the Creator Xemself vanished, and all the Angels in Heaven and the Demons in Hell looked up to wonder if it was their time,
or if their time was already over.
Overnight, Angel and Demon alike were struck with the worst curse ever known to them: mortality.
The worlds of Heaven and Hell contorted. From pearly skies, golden archways once the perches of Angels, crashed into an icy wasteland below. The fires of Hell combusted, collapsing the ground to a sea of stardust. The realms were twisted together, tied and locked in place.
In the years and centuries to follow, as Angels and Demons struggled-- and in the vast majority of cases, failed-- to adjust to their newly blessed mortal coils, the relative handful of survivors found themselves at the throats of their counterparts, quarrelling over the precious resources they had since found they required to live.
And so war in the realms was born, and though it may have slumbered, it never since died.
Watching over it all, a single sun had appeared, visible only from Hellish land. Some Emmortals theorized it was new resting place of the Creator, as Xe now spectated them, watching, smiling upon the only sick pleasure Xe could still take. And so that sun was christened with Xyr name,
Diespiter.
