On Kennedy cook show - I think that’s Dr. Oz’s daughter?

Doug Murphy

AOC - so disappointing. But what isnt these days. Everything is shit

Hentron

I don't want to defend Gal Gadot, she's a disgusting human being, but people don't criticize Schwarzenegger's accent in the same way. He is a better actor, though.

Benjammin'

She's gone full Buttigieg

Sorth Cuanto

Dave bragging about accents was like Sean Hannity bragging about ninja-disarming an assailant. I didn't buy it.

Joshua Trupin

States like Arizona pull INCREDIBLE amounts of water to grow alfalfa to export to Saudi Arabia to feed their horses. And of course, we have dumbass candidates here (Dems) who say things like "Colorado water is for Coloradans." OK, enjoy starving 40 million America.

Tyler Terwilliger

I don’t know about Nevada I live in Vegas they’ve already started construction on the new ball park plus they are trying to approve maybe it already is a data center

Tom in Denver

I was working and listening to the AOC interview, and it honestly just became white noise.

Mike Upchurch

I will never forget saying the same thing about ideological incoherence to a normie liberal friend and his reply was "The Dem Party not having an ideology is a good thing". That was almost 10 years ago. Wonder if he still feels the same.

For anyone who wants more info on the Colorado River Basin situation, this article spells it out in pretty clear terms, with lots of data to back it up: https://coloradosun.com/2024/04/04/research-colorado-river-water-use-cherish-hamburger/ I live outside of Denver, and we've been in drought restrictions for years. Switched half my yard to xeriscaping to deal with the eventuality that we'll have much less water to use in the future (would have done the entire yard had I been able to afford it). We're down to 2 days of sprinklers per week, and I'm guessing we'll be down to 1 day by next year.

Erin

Yeah, that's Daphne Bootlicker Oz

Erin

The end game for these fucks is what? Have all the money and power for the last few years this planet is actually inhabitable?

Gage

Love my state of Utah and the beauty within it but god damn have the politicians here failed. Our governor is dog shit. He's invested in alfalfa farms. His only solution to combat droughts is to literally pray for rain. Then there's the LDS church. They're sitting on billions and billions of dollars. But they only use it to build temples and crap. No real infrastructure or improvements to quality of life here.

Robert D. Tingstrom

AOC for Senate. Spend a term there, then run for President. Just my opinion.

ChigBungus

Speaking of the Dems supernatural ability to make the worst choice possible: James Talarico decided to throw trans people under the bus at the last minute here in Texas. They should hand out pamphlets with a chart that lists which marginalized groups are acceptable to do away with.

Fletcher H

In Arizona our democratic governors big selling point is cancelling the contracts with the Saudis on the alfalfa growing. She did it in her first term. Ironically we’re so low on the priority list for the Colorado River that most of the cities get their water from smaller rivers and aquifers. We could do better of course but it will be the massive heat domes that kill us and less the water issues. Agriculture is fucked though of course.

Karl Duffield

I work in civil engineering for water/ wastewater utilities in the front range. Every major city/ utility needs to start planning water reuse treatment facilities (ft Collins/greeley, Boulder, Denver Metro, springs, Mesa county). Because there is no longer enough surface or ground water to meet demand. Certainly not once we have another winter like this last one, which scientists predict will become frequent by 2050 or earlier

Karl Duffield

Water reuse generally refers to the practice of treatment to reuse either partial wastewater (greywater) or full wastewater treated to a level where it’s potable. Or it can also be treated for direct groundwater injection to recharge aquifers but that gets dicey with water rights and maintaining downstream flows (especially on the platte and Arkansas rivers). California is practically the only state doing it large scale right now which is insane given all 7 basin states are in bad shape

Karl Duffield

Dave is right about the basin states selfishness when it comes to water use/rights except for Colorado. Colorado, blue state, is basically prepared to say FU to the lower basin states who have already preliminary agreed to take less than allocated, while Colorado is refusing any cuts. I live in CO, work in civil water resources engineering and the justification is “well the river starts here so we deserve it”. Meanwhile, the state and the largest water municipalities (Denver water, Aurora Water, Colorado Springs utilities) are doing jack shit for any meaningful water efficiency or water reuse strategies to make the less water we have now, go further. The strategy by all 3 is to capture and store more and as much as possible. Denver Water just made a massive dam upgrade to like triple the size of one of its main Colorado River water reservoirs. No idea where that water is supposed to come from lol. Aurora water is planning to build another reservoir out in the arid South Park valley to take more from the south platte watershed - they literally had to drain one of the existing ones this year because it was so low and dry by mid spring, they were going to lose the remaining water to evaporation. So let’s build another reservoir right next to that one lol And Colorado Springs, Colorados redest major city, pretty much acts like there’s no drought and has a stranglehold over basically all of the creeks and reservoirs around the entire Pikes Peak region (where I live). I’m not aware of any water reuse projects planned for any of those 3. It’s pretty clear the plan is to capture and hoard as much of the Colorado, South Platte and Arkansas River water as possible saying FU and good luck to the states downstream. I live in the foothills and have a bed rock well so I’m lucky in a way that I don’t have to rely on those people for my water. But the flip side is, I was checking my well levels daily for 2 months this summer worrying that it could run dry when we didn’t get any rain for nearly 6 weeks while running 10-15 degs above normal in the Rocky Mountains (west of pikes peak). And that’s going to be the new normal, yay 💀

Kelsey Putman Hughes

100% agree on your points. I work in energy and resource management in Tulsa- I’ve been shouting for over a decade what happens to Oklahoma’s watershed when the headwaters of the Arkansas are impeded? Powell warned about western states and their unsustainable development plans to Congress back in 1890- all tied to his 1878 mapping report of the western water districts. There’s never been enough for how the land has been used.

Jason Tudor

I live in the Midwest and we have all the water we can use but it's giving everyone cancer because it's so polluted so everything is great!
