I bought the book containing the three stories from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and I couldn’t stop reading them. I finished all three in just three days. Without a doubt, it’s some of the best work George R. R. Martin has ever written, and this series is one of the best adaptations of his work.

Just to clarify since I see a lot of reactors get this confused. The mad kings name was Aerys 2nd, not Aegon. Aegon 1st was the one who conquered Westeros and Aegon 2nd is the one in House of the Dragon. One of the princes' [Maekar] sons that is missing right now is also named Aegon, so it can get confusing. Aerys wasnt as common though, since the mad King was only the 2nd king with that name.

He did sell the white horse, Sweetfoot, to be able to afford his armor. He traded in Ser Arlan's old armor as it obviously doesn't fit him. Dunk would forfeit the horse he rides in the tourney (Thunder) if he loses. The Mad King was Aerys II (the second), not an Aegon, we are still a few generations ahead of him and Daenerys/Rhaegar/Viserys. The Targs we've heard about/met so far: King Daeron II (current king) - Baelor (1st son and heir, current Hand) - the kind one that remembered Ser Arlan and let Dunk enter the lists - Valarr (Baelor's first son and heir) - rode in the opening jousts - Maekar (4th son of the king, has three sons he came with) - Aerion (Maekar's 2nd son, rode in with his father and uncle and was a douche to Dunk) - Daeron & Aegon (the two that are missing)

🤣🤣 I can understand that. It very much is a lighter and more whimsical story than the mainline story of ASOIAF, while keeping the essence of the main story. Which is most likely why it’s so good. Big props for bringing a Knight’s Tale. Very good, fun film.

I think hubris might be the word Dani was thinking of. It's a bit more clear in the novella but Dunk's whole plan is to just win one joust. If you lose a joust you owe the winner your armour, arms, and horse. Therefore most losers will instead pay the equivalent in gold to "ransom" it back. This is fine if you're a lord like Lyonel with lots of cash, for Dunk one lost and he's destitute. As everyone else is so rich though if he wins once it'll earn him a ton of gold from the loser. Then even if he loses his very next joust he'll have enough gold for his own stuff with a lot left over. Including Sweetfoot the horse he sold.

Just to clarify, I hope this helps . So far we have seen Prince Baelor" Breakspear" who is next in line to King Daeron the second. We see Baelor's son joust that night. Prince Maekar is Baelor's brother. He is the one with the two missing sons. Then we see his son being the prick prince who comes into town mistaking Dunk for a laborer, and asking him to take care of his horse and find him a wench his name is Prince Aerion "Brightflame". Great job ladies so glad you are watching these. I started reading the Song of Ice and Fire books when the second one came out I got the first and second book for Christmas in 1998 and have been a huge fan ever since. These stories are amazing. Thank You and keep up the Great work

I love this show. Even rewatching it it hits so good. My only "complaint" is that I wish it were historical rather than fantasy because there's just so much that goes over my head since I know nothing of GoT and probably won't ever properly catch up with how I heard how the show ended.
